After a long time of trial and error, Daniel Ricciardo saw a comeback in an AlphaTauri car that he may have not believed was possible until now. For a long time during the 2023 season, Ricciardo was left with a seat. However, even when he got one, the driver had to sit back due to an injury.
Nonetheless, after a long time of rest, the Australian made a comeback at the Austin Grand Prix. Although not his best result, he was finally able to grapple on the ropes as he proved during his Mexico Grand Prix qualifications. The driver qualified, Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes and many more as he secured a P4 for himself and his AlphaTauri team.

After a good weekend with the points at COTA, AlphaTauri got another chance to get past Haas on the standings. However, Ricciardo’s post-qualification interview was what everyone rewatched. The driver was on the verge of happy tears and a huge smile as he said, “I just wanna rip my shirt off! Lots of good energy today.”
The Australian tried to control his happiness as he once again saw himself at the front of the grid.
The greatest Daniel Ricciardo comeback to shut off F1 critics
Daniel Ricciardo got himself one of the best results for himself in a while. The Australian secured a P4 for his Mexico Grand Prix starting at the very front of the grid. However, his incredible run during the qualification left Lewis Hamilton behind. The driver will be starting right behind Max Verstappen in Mexico.
However, this brought back a memory of many of the Australian driver’s first win with McLaren. By that time, his papaya team had announced that Ricciardo would not be joining them in 2023. But what they did not know was that Ricciardo was going to do what their star driver had not done yet.
The Australian driver won the race but it was the radio message that got everyone to jerk a tear or cheer loudly for the winner. He said, “And for anyone who thought I left, I never left. Just moved aside for a while.”
This radio message stuck by many as he left the F1 scene with no seat for the next season. Thanks to Christian Horner, the driver made a comeback and was back with his Red Bull team. Although he is driving for AlphaTauri, it is rumored he could get a Red Bull seat in case Sergio Perez messes up his chances of being P2 in the standings.
