Lewis Hamilton has second thoughts about his Mercedes team after a failed Sprint race at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Mercedes made some great progress this season as they took second place in the Constructor’s Championship. However, with their recent performance at Austin and Mexico, high expectations surrounded the Mercedes team.
Hamilton believed the team had become faster. He also believed he could close the gap between him and Sergio Perez. However, it would all go down the drain as Mercedes struggled to get a good result at the Sprint race. Although they had a good start for the race on Sunday, Hamilton was not a fan of the strategies that were applied.
“It was horrible. It was not enjoyable whatsoever. Had a good start, then after that, I just struggled with the balance. […] I don’t really know how I’m going to fix that for tomorrow.

During his post-interview, the driver said, “It’s gonna be a long afternoon tomorrow. I can only assume I got the set-up wrong, and it is what it is. So, I’ll fight as hard as I can, but we won’t be winning, that’s for sure.”
Lewis Hamilton hoped to see a better result considering his P5 during Qualifications. However, the driver watched as Yuki Tsunoda overtook him. The champion expects a lot more from the team however, he believes there is no winning this weekend for Mercedes.

Tweets about how much the Brit has given to the Silver Arrows team and how he deserves better flooded under the hashtag. The Sprint race also saw Charles Leclerc purposely slowing down the Mercedes star. This in turn made him vulnerable to Yuki Tsunoda and ended in him losing a spot to an AlphaTauri.
