However, this year Lewis Hamilton is one of the four nominees in the Sexiest Athlete category. Nominated alongside Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs and NFL star; Professional baseball player, Shohei Ohtani and American Football quarterback, Joe Burrow. Fans can vote for their choices and their favorite Mercedes driver on the People Magazines portal.

In 2008 and 2007, Hamilton was nominated for the Laureus World Sports Award for Breakthrough of the Year and won in 2008.
In 2009, the Mercedes star was nominated for the Milliyet Sports Award for World Athlete of the Year and would see himself as a nominee in 2015 again. Additionally, Hamilton was nominated for the Best International Athlete ESPY Award in 2015.
He won the Best Driver ESPY Award in 2017. The champion then was nominated for the Laureus Best Sporting Moment of the Year, Best Driver ESPY Award, BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, and Laureus World Sports Award for Sportsman of the Year.
Although he did not win any, he went on to be nominated for the EPSY and BBC awards for the next two years. And the Laureus World Sports Award for the next three years.
