Bernie Ecclestone passed his verdict on Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton has been considered as one of the legends of the sport. However, Max Verstappen has inched closer to joining the list. The Brit has proved his incredible hunger and passion for the sport. Hamilton has won seven World Championship titles. Verstappen, on the other hand, already has one hand on his third title, after winning the Japanese Grand Prix.
When Ecclestone got some time off his legal battle with Massa, he talked about Verstappen and Hamilton. Bernie gave his verdict on who was the better driver. Talking to Daily Mail UK, he said, “Max is the best driver ever. No doubts. I used to say, Alain Prost. Now I would say Max. He’s the greatest. He is the brightest with regard to getting the best out of the car. Max doesn’t muck around. He gets right on the program. In my list, he is above Lewis Hamilton.”

Bernie believes that Verstappen and his brilliance is far above the Brit. Although he has won seven championship titles, the driver may not be up to Verstappen’s level. Max Verstappen recently made history by winning 10 consecutive races. He is also one of the only drivers who has won 13 races in a season two years in a row. Hamilton, on the other hand, is only four more podiums away from 200 podium achievement.
Does Bernie Ecclestone hate Lewis Hamilton?
Lewis Hamilton and Bernie Ecclestone go a long way to the Brit’s first championship title. It is also the most controversial topic of conversation right now. However, it was at that time when Hamilton received the most amount of hate, especially for his skin color. That is when Ecclestone was a member of the FIA and soon caught the heat for racism. When the issue was brought up, Ecclestone stated they were only jokes which angered fans for an apology.
Therefore, the two may not be in the best position with each other. Many fans have also mentioned that there is the possibility that Ecclestone may not really like Hamilton as much. However, Bernie said in favor of Hamilton,
“Lewis is obviously super-super bright, super-super talented. Lewis understands people and gets the best out of them, whereas Max gets the best out of the car. He’s very different from Max. When Lewis stops racing, he can get into a different world – entertainment or whatever – but that won’t be the way Max could go.”

Bernie Ecclestone gave his verdict on the better driver between the two. Every single individual, however, has a different opinion when it comes to “Who is the best driver?” The question obviously comes with bias and likes or the team that one supports. For Bernie, it was the quick evaluation of both drivers and their skills and behavior on the race tracks.
