For the last few weeks, there have been rumors of a number of drivers lining up to replace Sergio Perez in Red Bull. Fernando Alonso has been reported to be one of these drivers. However, Helmut Marko claims that Sergio Perez is confirmed for the 2024 season.
“This is all completely out of thin air.” Helmut Marko started. “Both Christian Horner and I have emphasized several times that Perez will also drive with us next year. Regardless of the results. He has a contract and we will stick to it!”
“I can well imagine that Alonso has scattered them himself because his results with Aston Martin have been very disappointing recently after the brilliant start to the season. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d use his home media to set the mood. We only have sporting goals in mind, which we deal with until the last race in Abu Dhabi. We want to win all races and make the runner-up title clear with Perez.”

Helmut Marko has confirmed that Sergio Perez will drive for Red Bull until his contract ends, which is until the end of the 2024 season. He also believes that the rumors of Alonso going to Red Bull were started by the Spanish drivers in an attempt to create some media attention.
Earlier this year, there were dating rumors concerning Fernando Alonso and Taylor Swift. It is speculated that those rumors were started by Alonso as well to create some media attention. However, the rumor turned out to be false.
When is Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin contract expiring
Fernando Alonso retired from F1 after the 2018 season. However, he came out of retirement in 2021 to join the Alpine team. After just 2 years with the team, Alonso decided to join Aston Martin. He signed a 2-year contract with the team which will expire after the 2024 season.
With Aston Martin, Alonso was off to a good start as he was able to get a podium finish in his first race with the team. For the next few races, Alonso continued to fight for podium finishes. However, after the Canadian Grand Prix, Aston Martin’s pace started to fall off.
Before the Canadian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso was sitting in 2nd place in the WDC while Aston Martin was 3rd. Now, Alonso is at risk of dropping down from 5th to 6th place, while Aston Martin has already been beaten by McLaren for 4th place. This has ruined Aston Martin’s chances of giving Fernando Alonso an opportunity to win his 3rd Championship next season.

There have been a number of rumors that Lawrence Stroll is selling the team. This will put Lance Stroll’s seat at risk. The majority of the fans and the paddock believe that Lance Stroll only has a seat since his father owns the team. However, if his father decides to sell it, there could be a shake-up in the driver lineups.
Fernando Alonso is currently 42 years old. After his contract expires, he will be 43 years old. So it is likely that the Spanish driver will retire after his contract ends. So this could give 2 open seats in Aston Martin for the 2025 season. This could lead to an exciting silly season next year.
