Max Verstappen has been used to the praises and the hate that comes to him. The Red Bull driver has become the star of the public eye. However, he has also become a part of a controversial historical moment.
Max Verstappen won his tenth consecutive win at Monza and has plans on going on until the end of the season. By creating a new history, the Dutchman has been showered with praise and considered one of the most excellent drivers in Formula 1.
Nonetheless, his ex-teammate and closest friend, Daniel Ricciardo did not waste too much time getting on the same bandwagon. When Daniel Ricciardo talked about his ex-teammate, he could not be more proud of how far he has come.
He told Talking Bull, “I think as well, I admire Max for his approach to racing, but also after the success he’s had, he’s unchanged; personality, mindset, he hasn’t really been affected by the success, and that’s easier said than done. I think that’s —certainly at this level, admirable.”
Daniel Ricciardo on Max Verstappen:
“Max and I… We always had a good time when we we’re teammates, but I think even moreso the last few years we’ve got on really well.”

Ricciardo could not hide his pride in knowing how far the Dutchman has come. At the same time, he praised Max Verstappen for his incredible passion and hunger for the championship. however, through the pressure of it all and after achieving so much, the two-time champion has stayed down to earth and very humble. Verstappen has also received praise from Zak Brown and many other ex-drivers of F1.
Daniel Ricciardo – Max Verstappen combo set to return to F1 in 2024?
Daniel Ricciardo replaced Nyck de Vries mid-season. The driver was asked to leave after his poor performance, and Ricciardo was welcomed in right after. However, the Australian only has a contract with AlphaTauri until the end of 2023. This means he will have to look around for a contract yet again next season. Unless he has plans on replacing Sergio Perez at Red Bull. But with no confirmation, it is still very dicey.
Ricciardo can possibly replace Sergio which would mean that the Verstappen-Ricciardo duo would be back. As a refresher, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo fought each other till the end to win a race. However, the team also saw the most mishaps and crashes after the two would crash into each other to have a better chance at the race. With that being said, Lando Norris is one of the other drivers who has caught Red Bull’s eye.

While there is little to no chance of Norris joining Red Bull at least until 2026, Red Bull may want to get rid of Perez. The team has insisted on letting the Mexican go quite a few times. And although Horner believes otherwise, Helmut Marko would only calm down when Perez is gone.
Nonetheless, Ricciardo joining back can mean one of two things, either their hunger to win becomes their enemy again or they finally have the perfect second driver. All we can do is wait for 2024.
