Daniel Ricciardo got into a small accident which left him with a wrist injury. The Australian joined the AlphaTauri team not too long ago. His replacing Nyck de Vries came with better results for the sister team of Red Bull. The summer break came to an end with the drivers walking into the Dutch Grand Prix. On the 25th, the free practice for the drivers started. That was when Daniel Ricciardo made heavy contact with the wall when crashing into it.
In the process, the Australian suffered from a wrist injury. Right after his collision, the driver was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that his wrist was broken. However, this news did not sit well with the AlphaTauri team as they would probably have to watch their best driver sit on the bench. This can also cause the team to lose a lot of potential points and the analyzing of their upgrades during the race.

Nonetheless, this wrist injury leaves the team with no choice but to bring in a replacement for the weekend. This could mean one of two things, either the team will bring Liam Lawson or Nyck de Vries back for the race. This can also mean that de Vries will get a home race for the first and last time.
Daniel Ricciardo gets replaced for Zandvoort
After only ten races this season, Nyck was shown the way out. It all started when Daniel Ricciardo returned to Red Bull as a reserve, third, and test driver. He spent his time in the simulation for half of the season. That was when Nyck’s performance was compared to his teammate Yuki Tsunoda. Nyck de Vries’ poor performance came to light after which the Red Bull bosses decided to fire him.
After Daniel Ricciardo’s wrist injury at Zandvoort, there was a rumor that Nyck de Vries may be called back to drive for a single race. However, it has been confirmed that Nyck de Vries will not be coming back anytime soon.
