Lewis Hamilton has been a voice for more inclusivity and diversity in the sport. The seven-time champion has talked about wanting women to make a way in Formula 1 many times. From calling out FIA to work on bringing more women to supporting the W-Series any chance he got, the driver has done a lot.
The Mercedes star has also been spotted going down to the F1 Academy drivers and during the W-Series to show his support for them.
However, Suzie Wolff has now mentioned that it is only Hamilton who has ever made an effort to show support for women.
Suzie Wolff told Sky Sports, “I think it’s a bit sad that it’s always Lewis. He’s always the one offering support, coming over. He knows what it’s like to be the only one and so he has an affinity.” She then mentioned how F1 has a bigger platform that they can use to bring F1 Academy much more exposure.

This can also help the sport to bring more women into the sport and have a year-long season for the single-seater all-female series.
However, Lewis Hamilton’s contribution and support were praised. After their final Austin race, Hamilton and his teammate, Russell were the only ones to be present at the race. The F1 Academy also announced its first champion of the season, Marta Garcia. She has become the first woman in the feeder series to win a championship.
Revisiting Lewis Hamilton and Suzie Wolff’s friendship since karting days
Lewis Hamilton and Suzie Wolff have always shown immense support towards each other. After Wolff became the managing director of the F1 Academy feeder series, Hamilton made sure to show his support for her each time.
The driver who is known for asking to see more women make it in the sport with success has a long history with Suzie Wolff before his contract with Mercedes.
After only five women made it into Formula 1, Suzie Wolff was one of the last ones to get there. However, since her karting days, she has had Lewis Hamilton as her support system. Being the only woman in karting, Hamilton always cheered her on for her accomplishments.
There was also a time when Wolff had trouble popping open her champagne bottle so with no hesitation, she turned to Hamilton for some help. The race winner popped it open for her as he looked at him gratefully.
Nico this, Nico that.

Suzie Wolff was also one of the only and the last female driver to make it to Formula 1. She tested for Williams and also joined in in a race although she did not find much success. As of now, she plays the role of managing director for the feeder series, F1 Academy. And throughout her time in F1, alongside her husband, Toto Wolff, she has continued to show support for Lewis Hamilton.
