Ever since Mick Schumacher found himself out of the Formula 1 grid after 2022, he has been itching to get back. A lot of fans were doubtful if Schumacher would return. However, he claims that the world has not seen the real Mick Schumacher yet.
Recently, Mick Schumacher told Sky Sports: “I’m a driver and all I want is to win, but I also have to be realistic and move forward. You haven’t seen the real Mick yet.”
After leaving Haas Formula 1 team, Mick joined Mercedes to become their reserve driver. Mercedes’ team principal, Toto Wolff, has a lot of connections with various teams in Formula 1. One such team is Williams Racing. Williams’ team principal, James Vowles was previously employed by Mercedes. He was the head of strategy for the team.
Mick manda recado para as equipes sobre o desejo de retornar ao grid:

As it turns out, Williams Racing is yet to fill their second car for the 2024 season. Logan Sargeant, who is having a rather disappointing rookie season, will be out of a contract after this season. If Logan does not improve in the coming days, it could pave the way for Mick Schumacher to join the team. This could lead to a successful lineup with Alex Albon and Mick.
There is no doubt that Williams has been showing a lot of potential this season. A couple of years back, they were struggling to get out of the last positions. However, now Alex Albon is able to consistently fight for points. With Mick Schumacher in the other car, the team could fight for points with both cars.
Why did Mick Schumacher Leave the Ferrari F1 Academy?
Throughout his junior career, Mich Schumacher was a part of the Ferrari driver academy. Ferrari played an integral role in helping Schumacher get the 2021 Formula 1 seat with Haas. It was speculated that they were grooming him to become the new star of Ferrari. After all, the Schumacher name has a long and successful history with Ferrari.
However, in 2022 it was announced that Mick and Ferrari had mutually decided not to extend their partnership. As of 2023, Mick had no more ties with the red outfit. The actual reason for this was never mentioned. So all we can do is speculate.
Sebastian Vettel spoke about mick Schumacher and made it clear what he thinks:

Ferrari’s current drivers are Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Both of these drivers are performing well for the team. So it seems likely that Ferrair will extend both their contracts after the 2024 season. This would delay Mick Schumacher’s move to Ferrari. Foreseeing this, Mick would have decided not to stay with the team.
With the Mercedes team, he will have a better chance to find a good seat. However, time is running out. If Mick goes to Williams in 2024 and shows promising results, he will be a candidate to replace Lewis Hamilton when he decides to retire from the sport. As it stands, Lewis has a contract with Mercedes until the 2025 season. There are chances that he will retire after the end of the current contract. This would give Mick 2 years with Williams which should be enough for him to develop his driving skills.
