The curtain has fallen on the very thrilling 2023 Formula 1 season, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the 2024 extravaganza. The 22 races this past season saw exciting action and the remarkable dominance of Max Verstappen and his Red Bull machinery. As the Dutch driver won his third World Championship this year, Red Bull too won their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship.
Their hold over the sport was unparalleled and had also caused some chaos within the paddock. There is growing enthusiasm as the 2024 F1 season draws near. The schedule for the upcoming chapter will break all previous records with 24 races, which will run from February 29 to December 8. Bahrain will host the pre-season testing at the end of February, just a week ahead of the inaugural race.

In honor of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which begins on Sunday, March 10, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are scheduled to conduct night races on Saturdays. With races scheduled on consecutive weekends, Bahrain also opted for a Saturday race in order to give enough time for the logistical difficulty of moving all the freight to the next event.
What is the 2024 F1 schedule?
The official kick-off of the 2024 F1 season will happen on 29 February in Bahrain, marking the start of an exciting journey. But before the real action, a three-day event from February 21 to 23, in order to fine-tune their machines for the upcoming battles.

According to Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, “I am delighted to announce the 2024 calendar with 24 races that will deliver an exciting season for our fans around the world. Our journey to a more sustainable calendar will continue in the coming years as we further streamline operations as part of our Net Zero 2030 commitment.”
One of the measures taken by the Formula 1 governing body, the FIA, to make the sport more financially viable was expanding the schedule for the 2024 season.
