Starfield players will know the importance of resources in the game. And with dozens of planets accessible, players can find resources with great ease. With so much loot available it’s hard to resist picking all the resources. After all one never knows when they would need what.
On the other hand, players will also agree that these resources are heavy. So it is practically not possible to carry all of one’s resources with them while exploring the wide space in Starfield. Thus the need to store resources arises.
While storing resources, it is important to make sure they are safe and easily accessible whenever required.
Where to store resources in Starfield?
There are multiple ways to store resources in Starfield, but below are some of the best and safest ways:
Infinite Storage Space
This can hold all your resources without any limits and for free. When a player starts the game and finishes the first quest, they are given a room in the living quarters of The Lodge in New Atlantis. Interestingly, the Lodge has an infinite storage space.
Once a player gets to The Lodge after the first quest, they must go to the second floor via the stairs. From there, players need to open the third door on the right which will lead them to an open hallway. After going straight down the hallway and taking a left, the player must enter the second room on the left with the open door.
The storage locker will be located just next to the right wall in this room. Although it has no limits to storage, there’s a catch. It cannot be accessed without going to the location directly. Similarly, players cannot craft without picking the resources they want first. Thus players will have to visit the location every time they want a resource.
The Lodge also has another infinite storage space in the basement, next to multiple crafting stations.
Outpost Storage
Once a player has set up an outpost and has started mining, they will find themselves in possession of hundreds of ore within very little time. Here players can need to build separate storage containers for solid, liquid, or gas in the storage tab for outpost building.
Players can build multiple of these storage boxes and eventually connect them by right-clicking on them in build mode. By doing so the player’s resource storage increases with the amount of storage containers they add.
Initially, players can only build small versions of these containers. However, as they progress through outpost research and increase their skills, they can build larger storage units. Once players have these built, they can store the bulk of less-used resources there.

Some of the best locations for building outposts include Andraphon, Zamka, Kreet, Jemison, Eridani II, Maheo II, Skink, and others.
Quarters in the Constellation Lodge
Just like infinite storage spaces, another ready-made storage area is the player’s quarters in the Constellation Lodge. Inside the player’s quarters, there is a safe with unlimited storage at the foot of their bed. Again, it is not the most convenient location, however, since a player visits it regularly during the main quest it’s a good storage to keep unique trinkets or other heavy items you don’t want taking up space elsewhere.
Apart from the above-mentioned storage spaces, players can use other storage spaces to store their resources including Personal Inventory, Companion Inventory, and Ship Cargo Hold.
