NBA 2K developed by Visual Concepts is a series of basketball simulation video games, initially launched in 1999. The games by NBA 2K are based on the National Basketball Association. NBA 2k24 is the latest by NBA 2K released on September 8, 2023. This game was launched for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
NBA 2K24 will allow the players to compete with or against other players around the globe in the form of dynamic co-op matches, online tournaments, or even casual pick-up games.
The year 2023, marks the 25th anniversary of NBA 2K. The latest game addition in their series i.e. NBA 2K24 will come with better upgrades and additions than all its predecessors in the series.
What is ProPLAY in NBA 2k24?
NBA 2K24 by NBA 2K comes with enhanced features and gameplay, along with animations and movements pulled from real-world action on the court. Traditionally, most of the sports games rely only on the use of motion capture for their animations. NBA 2K24 went a step forward and made their animations smoother and more accurate, trying to add another layer of realism to the game.
NBA 2K24 achieved this by introducing a new technology called “ProPLAY” in the game. ProPLAY will help NBA 2k24 in taking a big step toward realism.

ProPLAY’s technology will directly translate NBA footage into the NBA 2K24 gameplay. The movements in the game aided by ProPLAy have a more realistic and fluid quality to them. ProPLAY translates the NBA’s on-court actions into gameplay animations and movements and is available on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X|S.
ProPLAY will make 2K’s word load more efficient and hence they can add new and faster animations, and add more and different varieties of movement so as to come closer to true basketball movements. With this technology, 2K can increase the number of player’s signature movements, and also improve their signature move accuracy.
Some of the new animations powered by ProPLAY for NBA NK24 are- jump shots, dunks, layups, dribble moves, pass animations, and signature movement (offense & defense).
ProPLAY is only available on the new-generation version of NBA 2K24. This technology has brought a whole new look to NBA 2K24 gameplay.
