Insomniac Studios awaited sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has once again set high standards, both in terms of engaging gameplay as well as considering the need for accessibility and player-centric choices in the gaming world.
While the excitement among the fans intensifies with each passing day, fans cannot wait to see how much this game has to offer.
Amidst all the excitement, a leak recently surfaced on the internet. The leak was made by a once-reliable leaker that’s pseudo-retired already, and the fans wasted no time pouncing on the leak.

While the leak was intended to fool fans, luckily, it was refreshing to see fans not fall for it. It just shows that the fans are attentive and careful about their favorite games and that leakers and hackers cannot post anything under the name of a “leak.”
Marvel’s Spiderman 2’s graphics modes
The Snitch, a gaming insider and leaker, revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature two graphics modes, named Fidelity and Performance respectively. The Fidelity mode is majorly for players who want a visually immersive experience. The mode features gameplay at 30 frames per second at 4K. Reports claim that this is further enhanced with ray tracing and added visual effects.
On the other hand, the Performance Mode is a treat for players looking for gameplay fluidity. It comes with a gameplay at 60 FPS and a high-end 4K resolution. However, it comes without all the embellishments of ray tracing and other effects. Interestingly, this decision to skip the usual 1080p in Performance Mode will set Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 apart from many titles, fortunately, and unfortunately.

While the leak sent the fans into a frenzy, true fans were quick to spot that the leak was fake. Users on Reddit quickly pinpointed the fact that the information actually came from an earlier report that mentioned the new accessibility options for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Besides a closer and attentive eye on the leaked graphics modes was enough for fans to point out a significant error and ascertain its falsehood. The false leak of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 shows limited customization options, compared to previous PlayStation 5 exclusives such as the Demon’s Souls Remake and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
The lack of customization was a clear indication that the clip was taken from a game that wasn’t made exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Being one of Sony’s biggest and most notable first-party studios, Insomniac Games is known for its customizations, and it has never upset fans when it comes to performance and graphical fidelity.
Therefore, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fans can expect it to at least launch with Performance Mode RT (a combination of Fidelity and Performance Modes with Ray Tracing Enabled) and also a 120Hz Display Mode, among others.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is all set to release on October 20, 2023. Notably, the developers have still not launched a demo of the game. However, one good thing is that Sony has established a pattern wherein it displays its upcoming exclusives close to their release.
