IShowSpeed is one of the biggest YouTube streamers in 2023. The American content creator has amassed a worldwide fan following with his over-the-top antics, his love for Cristiano Ronaldo, viral challenges, and reactions. One such challenge became a fan-favorite due to the aftermath.
Back in 2022, IShowSpeed tried the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, which was an internet sensation back in 2015. In the challenge, young people from across the world tried a bizarre hack using a small cup to get their lips puffed up like Kylie Jenner, star of the show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The trend went viral with some mixed results from fans. Some attempts went out of hand, with a few medical emergencies required for the lips. The trend was so big at the time that medical experts and even Kylie herself warned against the lip challenge.
But, Speed being his natural self, tried this stupid hack seven years later to create another iconic moment for his viewers. He put the small glass on his lips and sucked it for 15 minutes to get the desired results on his lips. After 15 minutes, as expected, his lips had swollen up to an enormous size which caused him to dribble.
After the challenge, upon seeing his swollen lips, he started screaming: “What the f**k! What just happened to my lips”? Some viewers trolled Speed by stating that the challenge is permanent, which added fire to the anxiety of the streamer: “I just ruined my life doing this stupid a** challenge […] what do I do“?
Nonetheless, the challenge was hilarious and amusing to his viewers, as the video of the incident garnered more than 20 million views on YouTube. As for Speed, the lips were back to normal in a few days.
IShowSpeed may return to Twitch after new comments from the CEO
These over-the-top antics and challenges have always been hit-and-miss. Sometimes they go viral for all the right reasons, sometimes they create controversies. Due to one of these controversies, Speed was banned from Twitch back in 2021. He made a controversial appearance as a guest on Adin Ross’ popular e-dating broadcast.
The Twitch ban prompted Speed to switch to YouTube, where he continued to rise in popularity. However, the latest comments from the Twitch CEO, Dan Clancy have started some speculation that Speed might return to the platform.

As per Clancy, Twitch is interested in giving the banned streamers a second chance by revising its policies. He highlighted that there is a need for a scalable and fair approach. Clancy commented: “I’m not gonna talk about any specific case. All I’ll say is this is an area that we’re looking at to figure out what’s the right way to give people another chance.”
However, it is to be noted that banned streamers like IShowSpeed, Dr Disrespect, and Destiny have already transitioned into different platforms like YouTube and Kick. A return to Twitch might not be lucrative for these streamers who are already rising without Twitch.
The coming few months might change the landscape of streaming. These new changes might shift these streamers back and forth to different platforms.
