GTA 6 keeps eluding players daily with no official announcements from Rockstar Games yet. However, that definitely hasn’t stopped dedicated people from getting information about the game.
Since September 2022, GTA 6 has been a goldmine of leaks, courtesy of Arion Kurtaj. These leaks have been giving players insights into what is to come in the highly anticipated title.
Most of the rumors that stemmed from GTA 6 were confirmed by leaks for example the name of the main male character and the female main character along with several new features being introduced. Many of these features are entirely novel and have not been seen in any Rockstar title before.
New features being added to GTA 6
Let’s look at some of the best features being added to GTA 6 that are not present in any GTA game prior.
1. Using weapons as cover
In a leak of the test footage of GTA 6, we see the main character, Jason involved in a simulated gunfight. Taking cover has been a feature in GTA IV and V but it is always behind a wall or a big obstacle.

However, in the footage, in lieu of a proper cover, we see the character put up the gun to his face and use it as a cover while walking toward the assailants. This provides ample opportunities, especially in police shootouts that GTA is known for.
2. A map that updates and evolves over time
GTA has always been known for its massive maps that live and breathe. Since the game has to loosely simulate a modern environment, the map, usually that of a city, is filled with NPCs that behave like real people, driving and going about their day.
GTA 6 will reportedly feature an ever-evolving map as Rockstar plans to update the game over time, adding new cities on a regular basis with Vice City being the main setting. pic.twitter.com/hf7QUbQ41n

For the most part, these maps don’t change unless you count mission-based changes like the opening of new areas or destroyed architecture. However, in GTA 6 we might reportedly see a map that evolves automatically. It is not confirmed whether the map will change based on player actions or not. It will also update with Rockstar adding more areas with game updates and patches.
3. Dynamic weapon pickup and drop system
Weapons are an essential part of GTA. In the previous games, the players have been able to carry many different weapons based on slots, with GTA V removing the one weapon per slot limit and just being free with the weapon system. In the overworld, to pick up weapons, the players simply had to walk over said weapon to pick it up and it appears in the inventory.
With GTA 6, Rockstar reportedly seems to be going for a new approach, where weapons become whole objects if seen in the overworld and the character actually has an entire animation to pick them up. Additionally, players now have the ability to drop weapons from the weapon wheel itself.
4. Enterable buildings and interiors
GTA series has always had interiors that were enterable. But in most cases, these areas were either player owned or essential to the story.
GTA 6 will reportedly feature enterable hotels as Rockstar plans to create a detailed world, allowing players to enter more buildings than any previous title. pic.twitter.com/IrzEn11ILX

GTA 6 seems to be going for the approach that Red Dead Redemption 2 had with each and every building being reportedly enterable. This opens up many different avenues for gameplay and story including the fact that we might be able to rob the residents if we wish to, adding a touch of realism.
5. Camera side switching, catering to left-handed people
GTA series has always utilized a third-person camera for the most part. GTA IV and V added an aiming system that changes the camera to an ‘over the shoulder’ POV to make it easier to aim. However, in this system, the characters only aimed with their right hand. In the first-person mode added in GTA V, the aim remained catered to right-handed people.

Rockstar Games seems to be changing this fixed approach in GTA 6 and are allowing players to switch hands and camera sides at the press of a button which will make it easier for both right-handed and left-handed players.
Rockstar Games seems to be on a roll with changes for GTA 6. They also acquired the creators of FiveM and RedM after the incredible player base of GTA Roleplay servers. GTA 6 seems to be approaching and fans can’t help but be excited for one of the biggest and most anticipated titles in gaming history.
