Elden Rings is soon to get a DLC and the fans just got a significant update on the development of this DLC. The fans received a subtle update about Elden Ring on SteamDB that quickly caught the attention of the fans.
A few weeks ago a change in the game’s DLC section at SteamDB was reported. The DLC titled Shadow of the Erdtree was initially announced in February 2023 along with a teaser image. However, after that, the developers, FromSoftware, have managed to keep everything about the development of the game under wraps.

This primarily suggests that the development team of the DLC is currently in the stage of debugging the created content, looking for glitches, and performance issues, as well as spotting bugs.
Although this information does not hint at anything about the release date, it certainly does prove that the developers and the community are now one step closer to Shadow of the Erdtree. That being said, the official release date of Elden Ring Shadow of Erdtree is yet to be confirmed. However, the mention of “qa-release” files has given fans some more evidence to speculate and theorize.
Since the quality analysis stage is considered to be among the final stages of development, this is indeed positive news. It means that the expansion is in the final stages of development, and it is getting the final touches.
When will Elden Ring DLC release?
Notably, last year, some reports suggested that the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is expected to be released in February 2024. Keeping in mind the latest update that the content has entered the Quality Analysis (QA) stage, players can expect the expansion to launch sometime this month or in March.
Ever since its initial announcement in 2023, there has been very little information about the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. After February 2023, the developers spoke again in December giving a brief update and reassuring fans that the development was going smoothly. However, no timeline was given.
Nonetheless, there have been numerous leaks as well as subtle hints from merchandise manufacturers over the past year, keeping the hype high. A lot of this information was revealed through data mining, which found an “unknown app 2778580,” recognized as a DLC file.
Apart from being Elden Ring’s first-ever expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree is also reported to be FromSoftware‘s biggest-ever expansion to date. The DLC is expected to offer around 20 hours of content. This means the DLC will be around half the size of the base game. Considering the expansions of recent times, that is a huge amount of content.
