SUMMARY
- EA Sports has announced the return of the NCAA Football series after it went off due to rules and regulations.
- Ever since the NIL laws have been altered, EA's fans are eagerly waiting for a release date for the next title in the series.
In the American football video game series NCAA Football, created by EA Sports, players take control of Division I FBS college teams and face them in competition. It served as the Madden NFL series’ equivalent in college football. Bill Walsh College Football was first released in 1993, marking the start of the series.
With the release of NCAA Football 98, EA formally rebranded the series after acquiring the license rights to the NCAA name. Since the summer of 2013, the video game company, which has been adored by gamers for almost 20 years, has not issued an official title because of disputes around the use of players’ names, likenesses, and images in the game.
But now that collegiate athletics has changed its NIL (name, image, and likeness) rules, players might get paid for using their NIL. As a result, EA Sports eventually declared the game’s return in February 2021.
When will NCAA Football 24 be released?
A statement from EA Sports on social media from February 2, 2021, said, “For those who never stopped believing…#EASPORTSCollegeFootball.” After that, fans of the series have been waiting anxiously for the game’s release date.

The game will be released in the summer of 2024, according to EA Sports vice president and general manager Daryl Holt, who made this revelation in an ESPN interview on November 22, 2022.
“That’s the best date for us to bring the game that we think is going to meet or exceed our player expectations,” Holt stated on ESPN. “And cover the breadth and scale of what we want in the game. We’re trying to build a very immersive college football experience.”
During the CFP National Championship Game 2024, EA Sports did not make any formal announcements about the specifics of the next video game, NCAA Football. The game is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, so an announcement is probably in the works.
Everything we know about NCAA Football 24
EA announced in August 2023 that licensing agreements for NCAA Football 24 have been reached with the majority of the nation’s top universities. Whether EA was successful in closing deals with the remaining big universities is yet unknown. Despite the possibility that a few universities are missing from NCAA Football 24, its features should make up for any probable disappointment.
The upcoming NCAA Football 24 game will feature the return of three of the most played game modes from the NCAA Football 14, as confirmed by several sources. The three game modes included will be Road to Glory, Dynasty Mode, and Ultimate Team.
Also in the Dynasty Mode much to the previous games in the series, players can oversee a college football school and aim to elevate it to the top of the nation. In this mode, the player can manage player development and recruitment initiatives for a program in addition to leading the squad to victory on the field.
The fact that favorite college football players will genuinely resemble them in real life is one of the main differences between NCAA Football 24 and the previous NCAA Football 14. While characteristics like height, weight, and jersey numbers were frequently realistic in earlier games, the players on the field didn’t resemble their real-life counterparts. All of that will change in the upcoming game.
In the ten years since the previous NCAA Football video game was released, EA has certainly enhanced visuals and made significant strides in player imaging. Therefore, NCAA Football 24 will only come to the next generation consoles.
NCAA Football 24 is also expected to be cross-platform. This is because EA has made their other games such as EA Sports FC, and Madden come with cross-play.
