Fans of the famous Dishonored franchise have a reason to rejoice. According to the recently leaked documents from Microsoft, the third installment of Dishonored along with a list of other games are on the cards for the upcoming years.
During the ongoing Microsoft vs. US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) trial investigations, a set of documents was revealed to support the investigation. Among them was an old documented release schedule of Microsoft that was leaked.
A user named ‘Wario64’ posted the leaked document on X (formerly Twitter) revealing the old ZeniMax release schedule. The list includes a lists a number of major titles that have been announced such as Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6, along with some titles that have not been officially announced to date.

The leaked document mentioned a number of unannounced titles including Dishonored 3, a Ghostwire Tokyo sequel, Doom Year Zero, and Fallout 3 and Oblivion remasters.
Dishonored 3 release date
Among the list of announced games, one of the most satisfying ones was Dishonored 3. Especially since earlier reports suggested that Bethesda declined Dishonored 3 which had led to the development of Deathloop. Besides, after the release of Death to the Outsider in 2017, Dishonored had remained dormant. The developers Arkane had been focusing more on different games other than Dishonored.
If the leaked document is to be believed, Dishonored 3 is given a release date of “FY24E”, which reads as Financial Year 2024. Thus the window between April 2024 and March 2025 had been decided for Dishonored 3’s release by Microsoft.

However, it is to be noted that the release schedule seems to be created before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. According to the document, Starfield was slated for a 2021 release, and Elder Scrolls 6 for 2024. Although Elder Scrolls 6 still doesn’t yet have a release date, reports suggest it is not coming before 2026 and is going to be an Xbox exclusive. Looking at this, it is safe to say the games are running by a two-year delay.
A lot of the unannounced titles on the list indicate a release date in the financial year 2024. This means fans are likely to see these titles in 2026. Similarly, if the trend is to be taken seriously, Dishonored 3 scheduled for 2024-2025 would be pushed to 2026-2027.
That being said, it is also possible that in the period between, the titles may have been canceled or shelved by Microsoft internally that weren’t made public. For now, fans can only hope and assume that these titles still exist on cards and that they will arrive on their Xbox consoles sooner or later.
