CD Projekt Red is the developer of the 2020 action role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. The player’s character, V, is a mercenary in the made-up Californian metropolis of Night City, situated in a dystopian cyberpunk environment.
Critics appreciated the game for its story, setting, and visuals. It was, however, also heavily criticized for having errors, especially in the console versions that had issues with performance. The game has since launch got a ton of updates to fix these bugs.
The last major update, 2.1, for Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 5, capping a long and turbulent journey. In addition to several other alterations, additions, and improvements, the expansive patch features a new ridable metro system and increased romance choices.
Cyberpunk 2077’s latest patch has everything from improved boss encounters in the late game to more accessibility options. In true Akira fashion, players can now also perform wheelies while speeding around Night City.
Hangouts with romantic partners in Cyberpunk 2077
Update 2.1, the last update for Cyberpunk 2077, introduced a new feature called Hangouts. It allows players to invite their in-game romantic partners to V’s apartment to spend quality time together. With Hangouts, players can go on repeatable dates where they can converse and engage with partner characters.
Players have to first establish a relationship with a character by meeting their romantic prerequisites before they can invite them over for a hangout at their flat. Romancing characters entails making the appropriate dialogue decisions during their mission.
Although V can become friends with a number of people during the game, hangouts are limited to the four individuals whom V can form romantic relationships with Judy, River, Panam, and Kerry.
Steps to follow to invite the partner for a hangout
After installing Update 2.1, the player’s partner will text them to inquire if they should come to see them for their first hangout. To view the text messages, press and hold the button for the text messages. Then, select the apartment the player wants to meet them at to respond.
In Night City, players are free to hang out at any apartment they have unlocked. This will initiate the ‘I Really Want to Stay at Your House’ quest, which is a reference to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
In order to meet up with their romantic partner, players must go to the chosen apartment. They will be able to interact with them throughout the apartment and have conversations on a variety of subjects once they are inside. When they’re prepared to call it a day, they can head out of the location to end the quest and the date.
As hangouts can be replayed, players don’t have to worry if they don’t finish all of the conversations or activities during their initial date. Following the first date, a highlighted sentence will appear in their conversations, which they can use to ask their partner if they’re free to hang out again.
If players wish to try again, perhaps in a different apartment, they simply need to open their messages, send the invite text to their partner of choice, and wait for their reply. If this is done shortly after ending the hangout quest, players will have to wait two days before they can hang out again, even with a different partner.
