Embark Studio’s The Finals has become one of the most popular and played games among the community ever since its launch at The Game Awards on December 7, 2023. It is a fast-paced first-person shooter game wherein players team up in races and three such races fight against each other for victory.
Several games in recent years have focused on great combat and movement, and The Finals is no different. Embark Studios has made sure to offer one of the best experiences in these aspects. The three classes that players get to play are light, medium, and heavy.
Among these light characters are about movement and speed. Playing as a light character, players can move from one place to another quickly and smoothly. Additionally, the light class also has a variety of weapons to choose from. Here are some of the best weapons that the light class gets:
Dagger
The Finals players will come across many games where sword fighting prevails. The dagger weapon comes in handy when the player is at close range, thus pairing it with a gadget such as the Vanishing Bomb could give really interesting plays.
That being said, the damage is not that great. It takes many hits to kill someone, which wastes a lot of time. Experts suggest this time isn’t really worth it.
Sword
Just like a dagger, players need to get pretty close to the enemies in order to use the sword to do any attack. Besides, the sword has a slower attack speed than the dagger. This can come in the way when players want to get in and out as quickly as possible.
Additionally, the Sword’s damage is slightly greater than the dagger. Thus giving it an advantage. It allows players to get into the battle without anyone knowing and take an enemy off-guard before their teammates know.
LH1
The LH1 is basically a scout rifle that comes with a similar range as the SR-84 but features a faster fire rate. Although it may not be the best gun out there, its handling feels a little chaotic, and it has quite a lot of recoil. It’s not the ideal gun for close-range fights.
It is known to deliver more damage at a distance, thus it can be great for taking the odd shot at opposing teams running around. Besides, the iron sights also aren’t the best and sometimes feel more like a blockade than anything else.
SR-84
The SR-84 is one of the few ranged weapons available in The Finals for the light class. It is a hard-hitting weapon, especially if players can manage to get a headshot. Players will find themselves far away from the fight when using the SR-84 weapon, thus it is a good choice for players who are not very fond of close combat.
In The Finals, players will come across a lot of maps where the SR-84 weapon is useful. Regardless, keeping in mind that The Finals is a fast-paced game that requires one to keep moving constantly, it can be hard to keep up.
SH1900
The SH1900 is a sawed-off shotgun that, like any other weapon features both good and bad aspects. Altogether, it can be a powerful gun dealing a huge amount of damage to enemies. It is best paired with light gadgets like the Vanishing Bomb, which enables players to take opposing teams by surprise without them ever knowing about your arrival.
The disadvantages of this gun are the range and mag size. Being a shotgun, players will always be at very close range for it to do any damage. Thus long-range fights are out of the question for SH1900 in The Finals. It allows players to fire only two shells before reloading. Thus it may sometimes feel like it takes more time reloading than fighting.
Throwing Knives
The Throwing Knives are one of the most impressive weapons to use in The Finals. Although these knives feature a lot of damage and have the capability to quickly end a fight, they are sometimes slow they are to use. The right-click heavy attack may take even longer, and the damage isn’t that great either.
That being said, they are a decent weapon to have in both at range and in close combat. These qualities make it highly versatile. Players who are on the move chasing an opponent, or defending oncoming teams, will find these knives to be of great help. Another interesting ability of the throwing knives is that they have an arc when thrown, thus they won’t throw straight when aiming.
M11
The M11 is a classic gun of The Finals. Almost every light player starts off with M11. It is a submachine gun which is highly effective at close range. Thus making it a great choice for players wanting to get straight onto the battlefield.

However, one of the disadvantages of the M11 is its recoil and range. Submachine guns are not known for range, therefore players will need to be in close combat if they want to do any damage. It also comes with a lot of recoil, making it feel hard to control at times. Not to forget an interesting trait that prints receipts when damage is delivered in M11.
XP-54
The XP-54 is pretty similar to the M11 however, it features better range and higher damage. It has a fast fire rate, making it a great choice for light players who wish to get their hands dirty as quickly as possible.
The gun comes with better recoil than the M11, thus making it easier to control while doing more damage too. Notably, the XP-54 is also better at range for when players want to step back from the fight. However the only negative is that it has a smaller mag size, thus aiming must be done carefully or reloading may be required more often.
V9S
The V9S in The Finals is a semi-automatic pistol that is known to be the best light gun in The Finals. It has an incredibly fast fire rate. Besides it is also light to use making it a great choice for close-up fights or for taking the odd shot from afar.
As a light character, players will be required to move constantly. The V9S is therefore the best weapon for shooting on the move and defending enemies. The damage is also impressive since it feels and acts as a hard-hitting weapon making fighting more satisfying.
