The recently launched Season 20 of Apex Legends is making sure players have a good time being glued to their screens and immersing themselves in the game. The season started on February 13, 2024, and has introduced some notable changes to the game.
The latest season titled ‘Breakout’ also marks the fifth anniversary of Apex Legends. Among the several changes introduced, one of the most significant ones is the change in the ranked systems of the game.
iiTzTimmy reaches from Rookie to Apex Predator in a single stream
A pro player and content creator, iiTzTimmy, recently created history by going from Rookie to Predator rank in a single stream. Although reaching the top-most rank in the battle royale during an Apex Legends season is not simple, rising the ranks in a single stream is even more difficult.
iiTzTimmy is a well-known name in the Apex Legends community. He has managed to pull off some incredible achievements over the years. When he is not competing professionally with his teammates, the streamer can be found engaged in some daunting challenges.
We did it again, but better. Solo Rookie To Predator. One Stream, 34 hours of @PlayApex with no sleep. Thank you everyone! I love you all ❤️ pic.twitter.com/3O0FxsCloH

Previously, iiTzTimmy achieved the feat of going from Bronze to Predator in Apex Legends in a single stream back in 2021. Post that, two years later, he decided to give it another shot in the ongoing Season 20 of the game.
The said stream started on February 21, wherein iiTzTimmy tried to match his previous achievement of going from Bronze to Predator in the game during a single session. However, this time around the challenge was that to reach the stage, he would have to go through an entire new rank.
Since his last record-making stream, developers Respawn Entertainment have added the Rookie rank to Apex Legends. Nonetheless, iiTzTimmy took up the challenge and managed to achieve the highest rank in the game in a single stream. The stream ran for approximately 34 hours, which means, the streamer went for almost a day and a half without any sleep breaks.
It is even more impressive compared to his previous successful attempt in 2021 which lasted for 54 hours. Fortunately, the 34-hour stream did not take any severe toll on the streamer’s physical state. Many fans have congratulated iiTzTimmy for his achievement.
What are the ranked changes in Apex Legends Season 20?
The latest season makes considerable changes to the ranked system in the competitive mode in Apex Legends. Among the several changes, the matchmaking has been adjusted to be based on actual RP values instead of a previous tier-based system.
Welcome to the biggest Anniversary Season yet! The Legends are upgraded, Ranked gets reloaded, Breakout Rewards roll out all season, and that’s only the beginning.

Additionally, the RP distribution was altered, giving more emphasis to kills. On the other hand, the provisional matches and trials were removed. Apart from the matchmaking and RP system changes, the new season also introduces Legend upgrades and reworked the EVO Shield system in Apex Legends. Both these greatly affect the way squads go about playing Ranked.
Although Apex Legends Season 20 is still in its early stages and being explored by fans, it will be interesting to see how the Ranked system turns out to be for the future of battle royale mode.
