Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 review
Prominent Call of Duty content creator TheGamingRevolution expressed his displeasure with the Modern Warfare 3 campaign objectives on X. He criticized the story, pointing out how there was a lot of “pointless filler,” little tension, and no real stakes.
He felt that the game was safe and didn’t introduce anything new or interesting. The player also mentioned that the conclusion seemed hurried and unrelated to the main plot.
Modern Warfare 3’s campaign commits the biggest sin possible for a globe-trotting action thriller: it’s boring.

Fans also noted that Modern Warfare 3 felt more like an extension of Modern Warfare 2, lacking poignant and memorable moments that distinguished the earlier Modern Warfare trilogy from the new one.
Comments started pouring on X after fans got their hands on the game. @vandolharris tweeted, “Call of Duty hasn’t been good since Black Ops 3“.
@rollupmywrist tweeted, “good rating ign. i’m not buying this trash this year. it’s not even listed as a new game, just DLC for last years’. no thanks.”

@Joman67 tweeted, “Wow. This actually legit sucks. MWII’s campaign was so great. Figure the campaign took a hit as this game was supposed to be DLC for the previous one’s.”
@Real_Dave77 tweeted, “WOW, what a waste of money on a $70 DLC”. @Icewallowcumin tweeted, “$70 DLC ladies and gentlemen”. According to the reactions, players seemed to share a similar sentiment in general about the game.
The critiques focused on the series’ lack of innovation and feeling of repetition. They even felt that the game was just a lead-in for Activision’s upcoming release of another Call of Duty title. The campaign’s abbreviated duration of 4 hours was another significant grievance expressed by the players.
