Amazon-based live-streaming platform Twitch recently announced changes to its policies. Under the new policies, certain types of sexual content that were previously prohibited will now be allowed under appropriately labeled.
Twitch recently announced its new rules, for “artistic” depictions. The policy provided that content that is drawn, animated, or sculpted of “fully exposed female-presenting breasts and/or genitals or buttocks regardless of gender” will now be allowed. The only condition is if creators label the content as containing sexual themes. That being said, fictionalized sexual acts or acts including masturbation will remain prohibited as earlier.
The company revealed a blog post that read, “There is a thriving artist community on Twitch, and this policy was overly punitive and did not reflect the impact of the content.”
It is to be noted that the new policy does not permit streamers to be completely or partially nude on Twitch. It only permits such content under the heading “S*xual Themes.” Additionally unlabeled dances like “twerking, grinding, and pole dancing” are now permitted.
ZackRawrr reacts to Twitch’s new policy
Naturally, the new policy has attracted a lot of mixed reactions from fans and streamers alike. Several streamers shared their opinion about the new policy. Among them was a popular American streamer Asmongold, also known as ZackRawrr.
Zack recently posted his opinion on X (formerly Twitter), where he wrote, “Twitch isn’t and has never been a safe space for underage people.” He further added, “Everyone fixates on boob streamers but the reality is many Twitch streams cover topics and have conversations that would be wildly inappropriate for minors to be involved in.”
Zack is a YouTuber, and content creator, who primarily focuses on World of Warcraft. However, he covers other video games and topics related to gaming culture as well. He boasts of a net worth of close to $2-$3 million.
Fans are divided over Zack’s statement
His statement left the internet divided. While some fans were excited, asking him when he would do a n*de stream, others suggested that Zack always has the worst opinions about things. A user named ‘inhuman’ said, “Asmon consistently having the worst opinions possible,” while another user ‘TheSocrateej’ wrote, “Unsafe space for young people is a “W”?? Someone grab a woodchipper…”

On the other hand, several users came to defend the streamer. A user ‘DaddyxxGaming’ said, “Parents have to regulate the content their children consume.” Similarly, ‘KmaFr_’ wrote, “The platform to watch people play video games has never been for kids ?”
The new policy of nudity from Twitch has stunned several users and the community at large. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen what the future of the platform holds after the introduction of the new policy.
