The newest addition to the Spider-man game series, Marvels Spider-man 2, has started to turn a lot of heads due to the success its predecessors have garnered. Marvels Spider-man 2 was developed by Insomniac Studios and launched through Sony Interactive entertainment.
The story unfolds ten months post the events depicted in Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). As players glide through the streets of an open-world New York City, they’ll encounter iconic villains like Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and Lizard.
The PlayStation Showcase 2023 sent waves of excitement across the gaming community, placing Spider-Man 2 in the spotlight. What makes this title particularly intriguing is the inclusion of cherished villains and the much-awaited symbiote spider suit.
Unfortunately, a shadow of disappointment has come over some of this enthusiasm. The crux of the issue lies in the game’s exclusivity to PlayStation. The 2018 Spider-Man took four years after its PS debut to grace PC screens, leading many to ponder a similar timeline for this sequel.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 come on to PC?
Regrettably, for the PC gaming community, the initial response goes towards the negative. Upon its release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Yet, discerning gamers might spot a silver lining. Observing the trajectory of previous titles like Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, both eventually transitioned to PC.
While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 tops the list of 2023’s most anticipated games, it isn’t without valid reasoning. Its forerunners received praise for their gripping narratives, immersive open worlds, and unmatched Spider-Man gameplay experiences.
Notably, this upcoming installment will not even be accessible on Sony’s older consoles, only further underlining its exclusivity. Many gamers, including seasoned ones, maintain their PS5s predominantly for such exclusive content. It is quite an understandable move as well in this unsure situation.
Yet, the future seems promising. Sony has gradually warmed up to supporting PC adaptations of its games. Even though the wait is long, many games from Sony have made their way from PlayStation to PC. Renowned titles such as God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart now cater to the PC, marking a trend that cannot be ignored.
Sony, unlike its competitor Microsoft with the Xbox, doesn’t possess a formidable stake in the PC realm. Consequently, prioritizing exclusives like Spider-Man 2 for the PS5 makes strategic sense. However, based on Sony’s recent track record, it seems plausible that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may venture onto PC. Yet, fans must be patient because this transition could take years.
