Insomanic’s games have shifted their workforce to work on the Wolverine game. The game was first teaser was first showcased along with Spiderman 2, During an action-packed PlayStation showcase livestream.
Insomniac aims to go in a different direction with Marvel Wolverine. Looking to espouse a more adult tone in keeping the plain-spoken grittiness for which Wolverine is known. The developer made clear its commitment to “respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit”.
Marvel’s Wolverine release window
Though at the PlayStation showcase, Insomniac didn’t have any release window. Game insider Jeff Grubb has shed some light on the subject, suggesting a Fall 2024 release. However, he also stated that an early 2025 launch is under active discussion by the studio.
The trailer may not give us a look at gameplay or at Logan himself, but it does set the tone of Marvel’s Wolverine – which at first glance appears to be a more bloody, mature alternative to Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series
Insomniac’s ’Wolverine’ game is reportedly slated for 2025. It will be dark and violent, will feature Madripoor and will only be exclusive for PS5.

Keeping the dubiousness aside, it should be noted that Insomniac Studio has a good track record of releasing significant titles on time as demonstrated with 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and 2021’s Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Possible ways for Wolverine to connect with Spider-Man
There are easter eggs laid around the Spider-Man 2 game and Wolverine teaser. One of them is a Wolverine suit in Spider-Man 2. Also, Spider-Man 2 was previously confirmed to be universe 1048 in Across the Spider-verse.
The 53-second-long trailer did not give away much — not even showing the titular protagonist’s face — but keen-eyed fans did spot an in-game sticker on a fridge in the trailer that read ‘Radio Lowtown 1048 FM,’ seemingly referencing Earth-1048 universe.
In an interview with Kinda Funny, Spider-Man 2 director Bryan Intihar confirmed the answer is yes. When host Greg Miller asked if it had been previously confirmed or denied whether or not their spin on Wolverine shared the same Earth as its Spider-Men, Intihar replied by saying, “They’re all 1048. I think I got that right, but yeah.” Inthiar is referring to Earth-1048, which is the designation for the Marvel universe Insonmiac’s superhero games occupy.
These references don’t mean that Wolverine and Spider-Man will cross any roads any time soon. We can expect Insomniac and Marvel to have a collaboration including these two huge hits or even more in a single game.
