Drew McIntyre, with his extraordinary stature, is adored by his fans while feared by many. His exceptional in-ring stories often become a topic of discussion among his supporters. In addition to that, his fans also talk about the time when McIntyre broke a former WWE star’s neck.
The former WWE Star in question is none other than Charlie Haas. Previously, in 2009, Haas was engaged in a feud with R-Truth in WWE. With that, during an episode of SmackDown, Charlie called out R-Truth, but unexpectedly, McIntyre came out to answer his call.
With that, Haas and Drew took shots at each other. This resulted in the latter nailing Charlie with the Futureshock DDT. However, things didn’t go right, and Haas slammed his head into the mat. His arms were locked by McIntyre, and it caused him to go headfirst into the mat. With that, the former WWE star’s neck was broken by Drew McIntyre.
It is to be noted that Drew McIntyre was quite inexperienced at that time. That might have caused the botched move, which resulted in McIntyre breaking the former WWE star’s neck. However, that was a shocking moment and is still talked about among wrestling enthusiasts.
Charlie Haas’ comments on Drew McIntyre breaking his neck
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre previously broke Charlie Haas’ neck in a botched move. However, later, Haas shared his thoughts on McIntyre breaking his neck. Previously, while appearing for an interview, Charlie commented on the matter.
Haas stated that Drew McIntyre broke his neck, and the video of it is available on social media. He added how McIntyre was brought in the place of R-Truth and then nailed him with a DDT. Lastly, Charlie mentioned how his hands were held behind his back, and he heard his neck crack.
Charlie Haas said, “I broke my neck, Drew McIntyre broke my neck, it’s on YouTube. It was supposed to be me and Ron Killings, and they brought him out instead and… it was an interview and he cut me off and he hit me with a DDT with my hands behind my back, never let go. I heard it crack”. (via: ATLETIFO)
It is to be noted that after Drew McIntyre broke the former WWE star’s neck, Charlie Haas was out of in-ring action for nearly three months. However, he returned to the ring following the three-month time duration.
Meanwhile, Charlie Haas is no longer a part of WWE; he was released from the company in February 2010. On the other hand, Dew McIntyre has been showcasing his in-ring dominance in the Triple H-led promotion. With that, it now remains to be seen if the two wrestling stars will ever come face-to-face in the near future.
