You remember some stars because of their titles, some for their phenomenal charisma, and some for their in-ring ability. Dolph Ziggler had all of these, yet WWE didn’t make him a star, or at least didn’t help him reach his potential. From some of the most iconic moments to some of the finest matches, Dolph Ziggler gave fans memories to cherish. However, as he left WWE, he became a real catch for other promotions.
And things are looking good for Dolph Ziggler, now known as Nic Nemeth. Not only traveling the world and winning belts, Dolph is now a champion of multiple companies, a feat that very few wrestlers have achieved. Though we are yet to see him in AEW, he is having quite a strong run. And he is just getting started.
Dolph Ziggler is becoming a champion in every promotion he joins
In terms of his WWE run, though it was underwhelming in terms of championships, Ziggler won a fair few belts. From winning Money in the Bank and successfully cashing it into several Intercontinental, US, Tag Team, and Heavyweight Championships, he has quite a memorable career.
But outside WWE, Nic Nemeth is thriving. He has been to three major companies by now: AAA, NJPW, and TNA. You know what’s the similarity? He has won one or more championships in all three companies. Last night at Slammiversary, Nic won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, defeating everyone in a 6-way match, which is a big statement.
And the journey has just started. Nic had his NJPW debut on January 4, 2024, and in just six months, he has become the top guy in some major companies. Though this win of Nic Nemeth might gain some hate as Joe Hendry was the chosen guy for the fans.
WWE never realized the potential of Dolph Ziggler
It would be an injustice to say that WWE didn’t give Dolph Ziggler anything, but he could have easily become one of the top guys in the company. From a babyface to one of the biggest heels, Dolph Ziggler did everything perfectly, whatever was thrown at him. But he never got his moments.
Just for starters, Dolph Ziggler had a rivalry with The Miz, which is probably one of the best rivalries of the decade. From excellent microphone work to in-ring ability, that rivalry had everything. Other than that, his championship saga with Alberto Del Rio has been quite special for Dolph. He also had good chemistry with Seth Rollins, and they had a feud for the Intercontinental Championship. But it was like WWE was just scratching the tip of the iceberg, as Nic Nemeth has much more potential than that. And WWE, though slightly, might just regret that they don’t have such an all-round performer as Dolph Ziggler.
