The largest wrestling promotion in the world, WWE, might have plans to incorporate new additions to its roster soon. These might include new faces and even major returns. However, one former WWE Superstar that fans are absolutely excited to see coming back into the promotion is CM Punk.
Punk was previously a part of AEW. However, the Star has recently been terminated by the promotion. He was a part of the company for two years; however, a backstage altercation led to his release. Now that he is no longer associated with AEW, there have been rumors that WWE is interested in signing Punk.

However, though WWE might have an interest in signing Punk, that will not be an immediate affair due to the hiring freeze. Since the beginning of the year, a hiring freeze has been in place in the Stamford-based promotion.
Now there are reports that the hiring freeze might be nearing its end and WWE has been reaching out to potential new signings during the freeze. Thus, the hiring process might soon resume. However, despite interest, the Triple-H-led promotion will only be able to sign the former AEW star after the end of the hiring freeze.

Now only time will tell when the hiring freeze will come to an end. Also, it remains to be seen if the rumors are indeed true and if CM Punk will once again be a part of the Stamford-based promotion.
Possible timeframe for the return of CM Punk to WWE
Now that it has been reported that the hiring freeze might soon come to an end and that WWE reportedly has an interest in signing Punk, it is to be seen how long before the deal gets finalized. Previously, the Second City Saint was a part of WWE from 2005 to 2014; however, when he will make his return to the company remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, there are several speculations going on regarding the possible timeframe of his return to the Stamford-based promotion. CM Punk hails from Chicago, Illinois, in the U.S. Now, the upcoming pay-per-view event, WWE Survivor Series 2023, is all set to take place on November 25, 2023, at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois.
With that, fans are speculating that the Survivor Series will mark the return of Punk to the Triple-H-led promotion. He would make a comeback in his hometown, creating a blockbuster situation.

Reportedly, in April, when an episode of Monday Night RAW was held in Chicago, Punk was seen backstage. During his appearance, he spoke with Triple H and to resolve their previous issues. However, he was asked to leave as per Vince McMahon’s orders.
Now that all the issues between Triple H and Punk have been resolved, fans might indeed get to see the return of the former star to the promotion. However, it remains to be seen if Punk will once again be working for WWE and if he will make his much-anticipated return at the 2023 Survivor Series.
