Conor McGregor made his first public appearance since withdrawing from UFC 303, and absolutely butchered Michael Chandler, standing firm on his decision to pull out of the fight due to the injury. McGregor was at the end of severe scrutiny from fans and fighters alike after he revealed that he opted out of UFC 303 after fracturing his pinky toe during training.
Speaking to Dan Hardy, McGregor revealed how he didn’t want to give any advantage to his opponent by fighting with an injury. Having already competed with an injury in his previous fights, most notably the ankle injury against Dustin Poirier back at UFC 257, the Notorious expressed he had no intention of making the same mistake again.

Negating any possibility of never stepping inside the Octagon or even a change of opponent, the Notorious confirmed that the fight has been rescheduled to a “new date.”
“I had a little lapse of concentration, I had to reschedule the fight,” McGregor said. “I have done it before, I have made the walk on a multitude of times under those circumstances, and given these bums an advantage over me that they don’t even deserve.” He further added.
“Now I am dialing it in, I am getting these training camps correct, I am walking in there 100% Conor McGregor, injury free.”
Needless to say, fans will be waiting for the new date, and the excitement behind watching Conor McGregor inside the Octagon once again continues to be biggest talking point in the world of mixed martial arts.
McGregor’s apperance at Bellator Dublin comes in the wake of his teammate Sinead Kavanagh, who was fighting on the Dublin card. The former Champion was in her corner for the fight. As for Sinead, she suffered a submission loss against her opponent Arlene Blencowe.
