After Conor McGregor lost against Dustin Poirier at the trilogy fight at UFC 264. Many fight fans must have assumed that this rivalry has come to an end. But the rivalry between both fighters is not over as they have claimed that they want to run this back for the fourth time as they have some unfinished business left.
Following the Irishman’s successful surgery after the fight, The Notorious has taken shots at Dustin Poirier and his wife in a series of tweets on Twitter. He went off by stating “I’m a dangerous man.” and followed it up by commenting “I’m a nasty dude I promise you.” The Irishman ended this string of tweets by taking a dig at Poirier’s wife for sending a DM.
“Hey you guys! I don’t want to associate any negativity with my foundation so I’d like to take this chance to apologize for dustin’s wife trying to message me privately on Instagram.”

How did this entire controversy between Conor McGregor and Jolie Poirier start?
Many people including Dana White was critical of McGregor involving Poirier’s wife and he also requested the fighter to leave families and wives out of their ongoing trash talk at the post-fight press conference. But Conor McGregor did not pay any notice to the UFC president’s words as he has once again involved Dustin Poirier’s wife while taking shots at the former interim champion.
This comes in the aftermath of the trilogy fight when Jolie Poirier flipped off a middle finger at the former lightweight champion before walking off the octagon. As a result, McGregor wanted to remind Dustin Poirier regarding her wife’s Instagram Dm request on Twitter.
To put things into context the entire controversy started when McGregor went on Social Media to share a screenshot of Jolie Poirier’s pending DM request. Numerous fight fans believed that this might be a part of the Irishman’s mind games before the fight. Furthermore, Poirier denied this claim by laughing off in an interview. Therefore Conor McGregor decided to prove everyone including Dustin Poirier by sharing the screen recording of her message request.
In the end, McGregor does not want The Diamond to forget about this entire controversy by constantly reminding him about this incident during interviews and on his social media pages. But it looks like Poirier is unfazed by all these claims and chatter as he has complete trust in his wife. Furthermore, it will interesting to watch The Diamond’s response to McGregor’s tweets.
