SUMMARY
- Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul took part in the contract signing for their match in Saudi Arabia.
- During the segment, The American Nightmare seemingly dragged Mike Tyson into his feud with The Maverick.
Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship just weeks ago against AJ Styles, but a new challenge awaits him next week in Saudi Arabia. The American Nightmare was introduced to his new challenger on last week’s SmackDown, as Logan Paul got an opportunity to fight the fan-favorite star.
After their interaction on the May 10 episode of Friday’s show, Cody and Logan again came face-to-face on the latest edition of the blue brand. Their face-off was organized to complete the contract signing for their May 25 match in Jeddah, but things got pretty heated as they had a verbal war during the segment.
Both superstars took several shots at each other, but The American Nightmare did the unpredictable, as he seemingly dragged Mike Tyson into his feud with The Maverick. Doing so, the Undisputed WWE Champion talked about Mike’s upcoming match against Jake Paul and even predicted the outcome of the high-profile encounter.

Cody Rhodes claimed that Tyson is going to knock out Logan’s brother and said, “A WWE Hall of Famer is gonna knock your brother out.” Such a remark from Cody’s side wasn’t expected, but by making such a comment, he probably made it clear that he’s backing the veteran to come out victorious from the encounter.
Logan Paul’s brother is set to fight Mike Tyson in a boxing match
While most of the fans got to understand the personal dig Cody Rhodes took at The Maverick, some weren’t able to get it. For those who weren’t able to get the context of the dig by the fan-favorite star, Logan Paul’s brother is set to fight Mike Tyson in a boxing match, and it was what Cody talked about in his promo.
Jake Paul is set to go one-on-one against the 57-year-old Iron Mike at AT&T Stadium on July 20. Their fight is being promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, and it is going to be streamed live on Netflix. Rhodes’ claim that Jake is going to be knocked out is probably a hint that he’s backing Tyson. But it remains to be seen what happens when they go up against each other.
Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul is no longer a winner-takes-all match
Rhodes talking about Mike Tyson during his segment with Logan was obviously surprising. But The Maverick did something even more unexpected during the contract signing on the May 17 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as he was accompanied by a lawyer.
Ever since Nick Aldis revealed Logan to be Cody’s next challenger, everyone believed that their bout would be a winner-takes-all encounter. But during the segment on Friday’s show, the YouTuber revealed something else, and it was not what the fans were expecting to happen.

During the contract signing, The Maverick revealed that his match against Cody would be exclusively for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and he’s not going to put his US Championship on the line. In fact, he also stated that Rhodes’ isn’t deserving of getting a shot at his title and thus crushed Rhodes’ aspiration of becoming a Grand Slam Champion.
Through this segment, the stakes for their Saudi Arabia match have been made clear, as Cody is set to defend his title for the second time after winning at WrestleMania 40. Thus, it now remains to be seen how they perform at the May 25 PLE, and also if The American Nightmare can retain his world title or not.
