Counted among the top professional bodybuilders across the world, Chris Bumstead, aka Cbum, has won four consecutive Mr. Olympia titles, from 2019 to 2022. He is known as the legend of the Olympia Classic Physique Division. As fans call it, Cbum has the most aesthetic body in modern bodybuilding, with great muscle development, a tiny waist, and a signature abdominal vacuum.
Being a legendary bodybuilder, Chris Bumstead is often compared to the golden-age look of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Despite facing several health issues at the very beginning of his bodybuilding career, the 28-year-old stands among the toughest bodybuilders of all time. And the credit goes to his amazing training and workout regime.

Bumstead stands tall at 6’1″ (185 m) and weighs around 230-264 lbs (104-120 kg). His weight ranges widely due to bodybuilding competitions, which require bulking and cutting periods. During the off-season, the legend weighs over 260 lbs as he focuses on gaining muscle through heavy resistance training and consuming a large calorie surplus.
However, three months before the Mr. Olympia competition, Cbum goes to his cutting period and cuts down his weight to 230 lbs. He focuses on increasing energy expenditure and reducing calories strategically.
What is Chris Bumstead’s training and workout regime?
Chris Bumstead’s training regime usually involves focusing on finding free-weight movements, including deadlifts, squats, shoulder presses, and bent-over rows. Traditionally, the legend works out with a high-volume approach and prioritizes his failures from previous competition.

Moving forward, based on his progress during prep, Bumstead performs cardio as much as needed. He dedicates ample work to perfecting his poses on stage, and it also heats his prep.
In the off-season, Cbum focuses on building muscles and getting stronger, but during his training, he rarely uses low reps or singles. In 2022, he also changed his trainer to Hany Rambod, after his brother-in-law and trainer retired from bodybuilding.
With Rambod, Cbum went on with a different approach and focused on Fascia Stretch Training-7, for which Rambod is credited. In this, one has to perform seven high-rep and high-intensity sets of exercises with less rest at the end. This training helps lengthen the fascia around the muscle tissue to enable more growth.
Moreover, Rambod also includes intensity-boosting techniques like partial reps, static holds, and forced reps, occasionally. Under his training, Cbum won his fourth Mr. Olympia title in 2022, despite having a torn bicep that he revealed later. And now, the two have been preparing for the upcoming 2023 Mr. Olympia championship.
