Currently, AJ Styles has a lot of moves in his arsenal and has executed them with perfection repeatedly. However, this has not been the case always, AJ’s finishers were way too risky and had been banned before.
AJ Styles’s finishers that are way too dangerous
Styles Clash got banned by WWE in 2016 as it was dangerous and could possibly injure the wrestlers taking it. The move got unbanned later with the help of Chris Jericho who convinced Vince that the move was cool. But Styles Clash is not the only risky move AJ Styles had up his sleeves. There is one now-forbidden move that was even riskier called the ‘Hollow Point’.
The move has a setup like the Styles Clash but instead of landing an opponent on his face, it lands him on his head like ‘Tombstone piledriver’. A video of this forbidden move was surfacing on X where a fan replied under it, “Kickass. Can see why he is not allowed to use it in WWE though they didn’t even let him use the Styles Clash for months”. AJ Styles has injured numerous wrestlers with his dangerous moves.

The setup of these moves by AJ requires the opponents not to tuck in their chin while landing as their hands are immobile and can not save their heads. However, tucking their chin in is an instinctual reaction, and there many of them fail to not do so and injure themselves.
Lionheart was one such unlucky wrestler who injured himself gravely in 2014 while taking the finisher. Doctors even said that he may not be able to walk again but luckily he did recover. Yoshi Tatsu was another pro wrestler who got injured and broke his neck due to Styles Clash in 2014 in a match against him in NJPW. AJ Styles made a return to the ROH in 2014 and had a match against Roderick Strong.
The match lasted for 22 minutes but in the last moments when AJ tried to set up Roderick for Styles Clash things went south for him. Strong tucked his head and landed on his neck and suffered an injury. ‘The Phenomenal One’ once nearly injured James Elseworth from Styles Clash but luckily he modified the move to save him. WWE may have unbanned the move but still rarely lets him use it in the matches.
AJ Style’s current signature moves and finishers in WWE
Styles has been using other amazing moves while he competes in the squared ring in the Stamford-based promotion. One of the most famous is the ‘Phenomenal Forearm’, where he springs himself from the top rope and hits the opponent with his forearm.
Another one is a submission move called the ‘Calf Crusher’ which makes AJ lock his opponent’s calf in a position to inflict pain. Styles has had multiple victories with this submission move. The leader of ‘The OC’ has various moves and has proved his versatility in the ring. He also has various classic moves like ‘Sliding Forearm Slash’, ‘Stylin DDT’, ‘Springboard 450’ and others.
