SUMMARY
- Bronny James' second draft combine scrimmage now has scouts and experts projecting him on the draft list.
- The Utah Jazz have shown interest in drafting the 19-year-old as the 32nd pick in the draft.
Coming into this year’s NBA Draft Combine, Bronny James wasn’t the most sought athlete nor did he have much of showing in college to back himself up. In fact, several experts initially thought it was best that James returned to college for at least another year. But the narrative around his potential is slowly starting to set sail in the right direction, especially after the second scrimmage he played in.

The 19-year-old USC star tallied 13 points in 23 minutes leading his team in scoring. But he also showed off his explosiveness, sharp shooting abilities from the corner, and ability to handle the ball well. Right now, if Bronny fails to make the cut, the Los Angeles Lakers could easily swoop in and draft him as the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Bronny James is slowly moving up the draft projection
Recently, a source from DraftKings revealed that Bronny James is currently moving up the draft projections. The source said, “This was a positive week in Chicago for Bronny James. He’s moved into the late second round of our latest projections… That’s all the way from the back end of our top 100. Talking to NBA people out here, they feel like he has legitimized himself as a real NBA project.”

“He’s not just some kind of sideshow, LeBron’s son, that the cameras are following,” they concluded. What scouts are most impressed about is his idea of what he wants to achieve when he gets into the league. He knows precisely how valuable he can be and is also aware of his strengths as well. This is a huge update on James’ progress as the NBA Draft quickly approaches.
The Utah Jazz may schedule an individual workout with Bronny James
Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports recently shared that the Utah Jazz are interested in acquiring Bronny James in the second round of the NBA Draft. The Jazz own the 32nd pick in the draft, who right now is projected to be either Nikola Durisic from Mega Mozart, Serbia, or Hunter Sallis from Wake Forest, both guards like Bronny. Utah has been under construction ever since letting go of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert two years ago.

This could possibly be an attempt to help attract LeBron James as well. However, it doesn’t seem like James has any interest in leaving the Lakers, where he’s spent the last six years. But his lifelong dream has been to play alongside Bronny at some point. LeBron Jr. isn’t too worried about pairing up with his father but is entirely focused on getting into the NBA.
