It does not look like Brandon Ingram will be a part of the New Orleans Pelicans in the near future. NBA fans will know that Ingram began his career with the Los Angeles Lakers but was traded to the Pelicans and has spent the past 5 seasons of his career with the team.
Given that Ingram is a talented scorer with the potential to keep up with the likes of Kevin Durant, his situation and relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans have declined in recent times. With that being said, let us take a closer look at the situation and find out more on this subject.
Trade discussions regarding Brandon Ingram have increased drastically
While one could argue that several trade rumors have no basis, it is also important to keep in mind that the vast majority of trades follow multiple rumors and reports. Although some rumors may not come from legitimate sources, there is also a fair share of credibility.
It has been reported in recent times that the New Orleans Pelicans are not too pleased with Brandon Ingram. Over the past few seasons, multiple trade reports have emerged. This indicates that the Pelicans are fine with making it public that they are looking to move on from Ingram.

Brandon Ingram signed a 5-year contract worth $150 million with the Pelicans back in 2020 and will be in his final year next season. It might make more sense for the Pelicans to trade him before the season begins as opposed to letting him enter free agency and receiving nothing in return.
Why losing Brandon Ingram will not affect the Pelicans
Although it might seem bizarre to claim that losing the best scorer on a team will not impact it too much, Brandon Ingram’s play declined last season when compared to the 2022-2023 season. He played in just 64 games last season and dealt with a few injuries.
One could argue that the Pelicans acquired Dejounte Murray from the Hawks with the intention of replacing Brandon Ingram. After all, Dejounte is a facilitator who does not have a high ball usage rate. Between Dejounte, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum, the Pelicans will have more than enough offensive firepower. The Pelicans also have Herb Jones on their roster, an emerging star who is younger than Ingram and plays the same position on the court. For all of these reasons, it is safe to say that losing Brandon Ingram will not affect the Pelicans greatly.
