Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk is now set for February
The much-anticipated showdown for the undisputed heavyweight title between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is reportedly on the verge of becoming a reality. The two heavyweight giants are set to clash in February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to sources who informed ESPN.
Originally, the much-awaited undisputed bout was scheduled for December 23, but plans seem to have changed after ‘The Gypsy King’ encountered a much more challenging fight than he would have expected against Ngannou on October 28. Fury sustained cuts to his forehead and left eye on his way to a split-decision victory over Ngannou, who is known to be a hard puncher.
This fight marked MMA veteran Francis Ngannou’s debut in the world of boxing. Despite not having any experience in the sport, Ngannou impressively scored a knockdown against Fury, which was the sole knockdown of their 10-round clash.
Following the official decision for the fight, Usyk stepped into the ring to challenge Fury and establish their impending face-off. This is a match-up that is long-awaited by the boxing community around the world, and fans will be hoping that the fight comes to fruition and the world gets an undisputed heavyweight champion.
