Francis Ngannou sat down for a video to reveal intricate details about his recent fight with Tyson Fury. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion revealed how he had to overcome an initial setback in the first round of the fight.
During the interview, Francis Ngannou talked about various topics about the fight, from his post-match feelings to his reaction to the controversial decision. However, during the fifth minute of the interview, Ngannou revealed some new information about the first round.
The Predator started to touch on the topic by acknowledging how Fury was quickly out of the gate in the first round. He stated that The Gypsy King must have wanted to take control of his ring, considering boxing is his world. From there Ngannou revealed about the elbow issue: “I think, I hurt my elbow, little bit, not so much, so for couple minutes, I was feeling my elbow, but after that, it was gone“.
Ngannou further stated that he is a fighter by nature. This self-belief and fighter mentality helped him overcome the initial hurdle to push back against Tyson Fury in later rounds. The battle of the two behemoths was an entertaining affair for all the fans in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The monumental effort from Ngannou wasn’t enough to dethrone the WBC king, Fury. However, the performance by the MMA athlete earned applause from fans around the world. Joe Rogan was among the many who took to social media to express their desire to see the fight again.

The video in context was shot 24 hours after the fight. Francis Ngannou started the video by saying that he feels very good. He was happy that he wasn’t busted up in the fight. He admitted that he got hit a couple of times, but those hits weren’t bad enough to stop him, which is one of the reasons why he was happy with his performance.
Later in the video, Ngannou addressed the punches and power of Tyson Fury. He answered one of the questions from the interviewer about whether he felt danger in the ring with Fury. Moreover, the interviewer pointed out that Fury did catch Ngannou with some good shots.

The MMA fighter responded by stating that he didn’t feel any danger during the match. He was only focused on his condition and how his body was responding during the match in each round. As per the responses from Ngannou throughout the match, it is safe to assume that he was not hurt by the punches from Tyson Fury.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Tyson Fury took full responsibility for his performance during an interview with iFL TV. Looking ahead, Fury is set to face Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title at the end of the year. Whereas, Ngannou is set to make his highly anticipated debut in the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in early 2024.
