Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are currently on ‘The Baddest Tour’ as they promote their upcoming boxing bout. The former UFC fighters will take to the boxing ring in a highly anticipated bout on June 1, 2024.
The pair have already completed media duties in Las Vegas. They were part of a media event in New York on Tuesday. Diaz and Masvidal will be taking their promotional duties to Los Angeles and Miami in the coming days.

During their latest event in New York, the fighters put on an entertaining press conference. Fans in the crowd enjoyed their answers as they tried to one-up each other all the time.
Nate Diaz called Jorge Masvidal a quitter and that did not sit well with Gamebred
Jorge Masvidal has fought 52 times in his pro-MMA career, which, in itself, is an extraordinary feat. ‘Gamebred’ faced Diaz once during their UFC careers. The pair fought each other at UFC 244 for the BMF title. At the end of round 3, Masvidal claimed victory due to a doctor stoppage as Diaz had a brutal cut over his eye.
After the fight at the Madison Square Garden, Diaz allegedly called Masvidal a “coward” and a “quitter”. Masvidal has been mentioning this since 2019 and he has regularly reiterated it even during the build-up to the announcement of their boxing bout.

During their media event in New York, Masvidal said, “I know he wasn’t happy with the results and he said some things that didn’t sit well with me… He called me a coward and quitter… Tell me one time I’ve quit? I’ve never in my life quit and I’ve never in my life tapped. Anyone else with 50 fights who never tapped? Yeah, I’ve gone to sleep cause I chose not to tap.”
Diaz has tapped out once in his career. In 2006, Diaz fought for the WEC Lightweight Championship at WEC 24 against Hermes França. The Stockton native lost the fight via an armbar submission.
On the other hand, Masvidal refused to tap out to Tony Imada in 2009 at Bellator 5. Gamebred lost the fight via technical submission as he passed out but did not tap out.
Nate Diaz claims he is still the BMF even after losing the title fight against Jorge Masvidal
At UFC 300, Justin Gaethje lost to Max Holloway in one of the greatest MMA fights in recent times. Holloway proved himself to be a real BMF with his performance. Originally, however, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal were poised to be the real BMFs in the UFC. Although Masvidal earned the title after his UFC 244 win, Diaz believes he is still the real deal.

During the event, Diaz said, “I knew I’d end up back here and that the time would come… I got right back to doing what I had to do after our first fight. I still feel like I’m the real BMF… I’m gonna continue on until the end of time.”
Both the fighters are great promoters and a lot of media events and interviews can be expected in the coming weeks. The boxing bout is just over a month away and Diaz and Masvidal will be vying for a big win.
