Canelo Alvarez, fresh out of his big win against Jermell Charlo, was spotted partying at a club. The Mexican boxer looked like he was enjoying his time drinking and dancing. However, this has been taken in a negative light by a user on X (formerly known as Twitter). They compared Alvarez’s drinking habit to Floyd Mayweather’s abstinence from drinking.
The user, @ClenbutrolPlugz, wrote, “Canelo always drunk…..Utterly disgraceful… TBE 💴 Floyd Money Mayweather has never even touched a drink… He will never be Floyd… #CaneloCharlo.”

The tweet was not received well by fans who started portraying Mayweather in a negative light. The International Boxing Hall of Famer was exposed by fans in the comments section. His controversies related to domestic violence were repeatedly mentioned. Fans also mentioned Mayweather’s inability to read, which is a common insult he has faced, however, it is not true.

Alvarez and Mayweather met once in their careers in 2013. Mayweather got the better of Alvarez and won the match via a majority decision. ‘TBE’ created an unmatched legacy after he retired at the age of 40 with an undefeated record of 50-0. On the other hand, Alvarez, who is 33 years old, has already fought 64 bouts. He holds an impressive record of 60-2-2.
Fans regularly have a debate about who is the better boxer between the pair. Mayweather’s undefeated record and several other records have always made him the favorable choice.

According to The Mirror, Mayweather said, “Canelo is the main event and main attraction. I respect Canelo, he’s one hell of a champion, done one hell of a job tonight.”
Charlo, the unified junior middleweight champ, also showered praise on his opponent after the bout. He also claimed that he did not feel well inside the ring. It could be because Charlo had not competed for over a year. This was his first professional bout after facing Brian Castano in May 2022.
