Home to the NBA team Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center will host the hugely anticipated boxing showdown. However, a few issues after the agreement have the fans worried that the fight might get canceled. Let’s take a look.
What’s stopping Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney?
Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney is in jeopardy of falling out after issues regarding the fight’s venue. Initially set to go down in Las Vegas, Garcia isn’t too happy about New York as the location for their fight.
New York has not hosted any major boxing boxing bouts in recent times. Moreover, it doesn’t get any better than Las Vegas if you are a fight fan, and that’s not something only fans are saying; even Garcia and Haney are of the same idea.
This is a MGM Vegas fight, doing everything we can to bring this to Vegas and giving this fight what it deserves!!!

Ryan Garcia’s last fight, which took place in Las Vegas, came against Gervonta Davis. The hugely anticipated showdown in Sin City made $22.8 million in ticket sales, making it the fifth-highest gate in Las Vegas history. After the announcement, Tank went to social media and mocked Ryan Garcia in a now-deleted tweet.
Vegas brings more money out of every place a promotion can think of putting a fight, so for a fight like Haney vs. Garcia to take place in New York instead of Sin City, fans and fighters alike are of the idea; it might not be the right choice.
Why are you trying to paint that picture to the public, towards the guy who is making you more money in your life and in your entire career- Sad to see. That is real hoe behavior which you learned from your dad so I can’t blame you. https://t.co/bDhfwnREYN

The controversy surrounding the fight has seen both fighters go back and forth against each other on social media. Haney also pointed out how the decision to not hold the fight in Vegas concerns Canelo Alvarez.
While the Mexican fighter doesn’t have a fight confirmed as of yet, there are reports that he could be fighting in the first week of May. Haney believes the decision to hold the fight in New York was to not “affect ticket sales” for Canelo’s fight. Needless to say, this did not sit well with the fans.
The reason the fight not happening n vegas is because they don’t wanna affect Canelo ticket sales..
