- The former WBA Heavyweight Champion stole the headlines for all the wrong reasons with an interview ahead of his big fight.
- Some words were exchanged in the face-off which prompted Miller to shove Dubois.
Daniel Dubois is an entertaining character in the boxing world. The former WBA Heavyweight Champion stole the headlines for all the wrong reasons with an interview ahead of his big fight. The British boxer is set to face Jarrell Miller at the Day of Reckoning event in Saudi Arabia.
The heavyweight was in the middle of a promotional interview for his fight when the interviewer asked Dubois a basic question about his strategy against Miller. However, Dubois chose to ignore the question and answer with a bold statement: “I am not worried about that, this is Africa, we threw our lambs out here”.
The big problem with this statement is that Dubois wasn’t in Africa during the interview. Africa isn’t close to any situation in this regard; neither Dubois nor Miller are from Africa, and the event is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The whole ensued comedy as the statement unintentionally went viral on Reddit among boxing fans and proved a good promotion for the undercard fight.

Comments like “Dubois is such an unentertaining non-character, that he’s an entertaining character,” “The look of confusion on the interviewer, I’m dead,” “Did u see when he made that daddy joke and smiled. He actually might be special needs,” and “The second-hand embarrassment I’m getting,” echoed the sentiments of the fans.
Dubois might not be good with his geography, but he is excellent with his hands in the boxing ring. The British boxer is hoping to return to winning ways with an impressive performance against the infamous drug cheat, Miller.
Jarrell Miller shoves Daniel Dubois during weigh-in ahead of Day of Reckoning
The comical character of Dubois wasn’t the only incident that helped in the promotion of the fight, as Miller did his bit by shoving Dubois during the weigh-in ahead of the fight on December 23. The Day of Reckoning is a stacked card but many fans are excited for Dubois and Miller.
Some words were exchanged in the face-off which prompted Jarrell Miller to shove Dubois. The British heavyweight wanted to react back to Miller but security held him back as well as Jarrell. The American fighter is a favorite for the fight after his controversial defeat against Oleksandr Usyk back in August.
Jarrell Miller led the trash talk in the face-off and looked pumped for the fight. Many eyebrows were raised when Miller weighed around 333 lbs, which is astonishing for his height of 6 feet 4 inches. Dubois came in at 239 lbs, which adds another layer to the clash, considering there is around a 100-pound difference between the fighters.
Miller might pack a punch with more weight but might gassed out early due to such a heavyweight. Jarrell is looking for a knockout victory, while Dubois is playing the long game. The clash will be one to watch on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin.
