Before his highly anticipated fight against Logan Paul, Dillon Danis revealed some permanent injuries he had suffered that caused him to look a certain way. UFC fighter Sean O’Malley asked Danis why he has a “lazy eye” and Danis informed him that he has had it since 2018.

The Bellator MMA fighter took to X to post a picture of himself with his newborn son. In the picture, Danis’ eyes were barely open. ‘Suga’ Sean commented on the post and asked, “You always have a lazy eye or just sometimes? Sorry high af right now can’t tell.”

Danis responded to the question with a video of Conor McGregor who explained how his camp, which involved Danis, was a warzone while they trained for his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov before UFC 229 in 2018. In the video, McGregor was heard saying, “Broken orbital bones, broken zygomatic arches, swallowed teeth, broken feet, broken fingers – this has been a warzone!”

Fun fact: In the lead-up to UFC 229, while doing hard sparring sessions with Conor for the Khabib fight, I broke my zygomatic arch and orbital bone, so I think I’m just stuck like this 😂 https://t.co/Jy178gcSxk pic.twitter.com/HckQZYMH3L

Danis wrote, “Fun fact: In the lead-up to UFC 229, while doing hard sparring sessions with Conor for the Khabib fight, I broke my zygomatic arch [aka cheek bone] and orbital bone [bone that makes up the eye socket], so I think I’m just stuck like this.”

These previously unknown injuries are in and around his eye. This explains the “lazy eye” mentioned by the UFC Bantamweight champion. However, it was unfortunate that it all came to naught when McGregor was defeated by Khabib via a submission.

Dillon Danis was attacked by Khabib Nurmagomedov after Conor McGregor fight at UFC 229

After Khabib made McGregor submit, he wasted no time in jumping over the cage and attacking Danis in the Irish fighter’s corner. Reports suggested that Danis hurled abuses at Khabib which is why he went after him. However, Khabib later clarified that this was not the case. The Russian did not jump on the others in McGregor’s corner as they were old.

He said, “I jumped on him because the cornerman were too old. He is almost like my age, if I jumped on Kavanagh I don’t think it’s…. Kavanagh can’t fight me, that’s why I jumped on him [Danis]. I didn’t hear him during the fight because it was too loud, but I don’t like his whole team.”

In an interview later, Danis revealed that he could have sued Khabib: “I could have sued him for a crazy amount of money. A fighter jumps over the cage when I’m cornering, I’m not paying attention. I’m getting punched from behind, it’s crazy. I obviously took it for whatever it was because that’s just how I am, but it’s f***ed up. In the lead-up, we were all going back and forth with each other.”

He also explained that there was a lot going on between the two camps before the fight and during it. Similarly, Danis has been at Logan Paul‘s throat. With his spree of tweets, he is creating many long-term enemies. However, this time Danis will be taking center-stage instead of sitting ringside as he boxes Paul on October 14, 2023.
