Mike Tyson is considered one of the greatest boxers of our generation.’The Baddest Man on the Planet’ held the undisputed heavyweight strap for three years. Furthermore, Mike was the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title.
‘Iron Mike’ has a solid record of 50-6-2 with 44 of his wins coming by way of knockout. Furthermore, he was known for perfectly implementing the peek-a-boo style of boxing which led to great defensive ability. Throughout his career, he defeated some of the best boxers including, Trevor Berbick, Michael Spinks, and Bruce Seldon among many others.
On June 11, 2005, Tyson competed in his last-ever professional boxing fight against Irishman, Kevin McBride. He lost the fight when he decided to quit after the sixth round. Throughout the fight, Mike Tyson was looking out of form as he struggled throughout the fight. He landed a few shots but eventually, McBride knocked him down in the sixth round.
He used some illegal like headbutting and attempting to break the arm of his opponent. This led to the deduction of points for ‘Iron Mike’.
During the post-fight speech, Tyson officially announced his retirement. He admitted that he was getting beat up badly in the match. “I don’t think I have it anymore, I’ve got the ability to stay in shape but I don’t have the fighting guts anymore,” said the legendary boxer. Furthermore, he admitted that he was doing it just to pay his bills.
“I just don’t have that ferocity anymore, I ‘m not that animal anymore,” said Mike Tyson. Furthermore, he promised that most likely he would not fight again as he didn’t want to disrespect the sport by quitting like a coward.

Mike broke his promise when he decided to compete against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match on November 28, 2020. However, justice was served when he got screwed by Triller. According to Mike Tyson, he did not receive his full payment for the exhibition fight. Furthermore, Tyson said that he would never work with Triller again.
After this statement, Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh responded with a letter to Mike and his team. In the letter, Ryan states that someone in the middle is trying to fool Tyson. Furthermore, he says that Triller had proof in the form of bank receipts showing the full $25 million payment.

During the recent press conference for the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou match, John Fury decided to challenge ‘Iron Mike’ to a boxing match. According to Mike, John has been chasing him for a match for over 40 years. However, the legendary heavyweight is not interested in fighting Tyson’s father.
When he was asked about a boxing return during the gala dinner he said that he only fights for money these days. Furthermore, when the reporter asked him if he was officially retired from boxing he had an intriguing response.
“Everybody wants me to fight an exhibition. Hey listen, if the price is right,” said Mike. We will have to wait and see if he decides to fight again.
