Chris Bumstead, promptly known as the King of the Classic Physique division, has won four consecutive Mr. Olympia titles from 2019 to 2022. In today’s contemporary bodybuilding, there’s no other champion who comes close to Cbum.
Born in 1955, Chris Bumstead began his journey in bodybuilding by weightlifting at the age of 14. Within a short period of time, he went from weighing 170 lbs to 225 lbs. As he moved forward, his interest in bodybuilding grew, and with the help of his brother-in-law, who was also a bodybuilder, Cbum went even higher in rank.
The legend made his debut in Mr. Olympia in 2017 but didn’t gain success until 2019 when he won his first Mr. Olympia title. Thereafter, his hard work and dedication brought him three more titles, consecutively in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
When it comes to training, Cbum has always been disciplined and consistent. The 28-year-old usually does a 5-day-long training split, targeting different muscles on different days. The split primarily includes chest workouts, triceps, back and biceps, legs, shoulders, and traps. Then he takes a day’s rest for active recovery, and then he finishes his week by focusing on his arms and abs.
Being a contemporary bodybuilding legend, Bumstead aims to achieve the ideal physique from the 1960s and 1970s. He is, in fact, often compared to the legendary bodybuilder and actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Bumstead focuses on keeping his training steady and having room for adjustments. His daily workouts usually involve various fundamental exercises, combining free weights with specialized machines.
How long does Chris Bumstead work out in a day?
With one of the most aesthetic bodies in modern bodybuilding, Chris Bumstead’s workout routine is steady and sorted. For the upcoming Mr. Olympia competition, the legend is following a three-day-on, one-day-off, and then three-day-on training split. This usually starts with a quad-dominant leg workout, from Monday.

“I got legs, like a quad-dominant leg workout and I do chest with a little bit of triceps, back with a little bit of biceps. Then I rest, then I have a shoulder day with a little bit of chest. Then I have a hamstring day with a little bit of back. And then I have an arm workout and then I rest,” Bumstead shared.
Cbum usually spends around three hours and fifteen minutes of training. His workout routine hits a different muscle group once a week, and with his coach Hany Rambod, there have been several changes in his training routine and diet. For the upcoming competition, the legend is focusing entirely on his training split and six-meals-a-day diet to sculpt the ultimate physique in November.
