After a record mounting performance against Julia Budd to win the Bellator’s Women’s Featherweight Championship. In the process, Cris Cyborg created history as she became the first-ever women’s grand slam Champion, having won Invicta FC, Strikeforce, Bellator, and UFC Championship. Cyborg continues to be one of the most competitive fighters in the history of MMA with notable victories over some of the most prominent names in the history of UFC.

Cris Cyborg snapped Julia Budd off of her 11 fight win streak. Julia Budd rules the Bellator Featherweight division having never lost inside the octagon after losing to Ronda Rousey back in November of 2011. However, Cris Cyborg came strong in her debut fight for Bellator, as she picked up an impressive TKO win in the fourth round to grab the Bellator gold.

At the top of the featherweight division, Cris Cyborg is expected to take on Arlene Blencowe in her first title defense. Cyborg will make her first title defense on the 15th of October. Arlene Blencowe has looked absolutely spectacular in her last few fights. Blencowe has lost only twice in her last nine fights inside the octagon with both the losses coming against former Champion Julia Budd.

With three back to back victories over some of the best in the 145-pound division including Leslie Smith and Amanda Bell, Blencowe has earned her shot at the title belt. Both the fighter will headline UFC 249 with yet another interesting match-up in the stacked card. Douglas Lima and Gerard Mousasi will take on each other for the Bellator Middleweight Championship.

Bellator 249 will also feature welterweight contender and MMA veteran Paul Daley go against Derek Anderson, while Michael “Venom” Page will also make his much-anticipated return against Cage Warriors veteran Ross Houston.
