Anthony Edwards recently made a statement about his desire to win an NBA championship that has caught fans off guard. To those who might not be aware, Edwards is the franchise star for the Minnesota Timberwolves and has established himself as one of the best young and upcoming players in the league today.
At the moment, the Timberwolves are in the Western Conference semi-finals and hold a 2-0 series lead over the Denver Nuggets. This is quite an unexpected scenario given that the Nuggets were favored to come out of the West once again and make the NBA Finals.
Anthony Edwards admits that getting Rudy Gobert’s face tattooed is a small price to pay
Although Rudy Gobert only joined the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, there is no denying that his defensive abilities and rim protection have played a huge role in the success that the team has seen this season. During a recent postgame interview, Anthony Edwards was asked if he would get a tattoo of Gobert’s face on his body if it guaranteed the Timberwolves a championship this season.
Considering that a tattoo is something that will stay with a person well past their professional career and until the end of their lives, one may assume that Edwards was unwilling to do so. However, Ant agreed and stated that he would get the tattoo on his arm if it guaranteed the Timberwolves winning an NBA championship.
Reporter: “Would you get a tattoo of Rudy Gobert’s face anywhere on your body for the Timberwolves to guaranteed win the NBA championship this year?”
Anthony Edwards: “Yeah. Probably my arm or some sh*t.” 😅

Since this was nothing more than a hypothetical, Edwards obviously has no reason to get Gobert’s face tattooed anywhere on his body. Especially since they will not be guaranteed a title under any scenario. Whether Edwards gets the tattoo anyway or does not, fans are left wondering about the ceiling for the Wolves this season.
How far can Ant and the Timberwolves go this season?
At the moment, it appears as if the Timberwolves will defeat the Nuggets and make it to the Western Conference Finals. Since Edwards will have eliminated Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic in back-to-back series, he and the Timberwolves will be favored to defeat the winner of the Mavs-OKC series.
