The list of managers who are fired in the 2023-24 season are mentioned below
1. Josh McDaniels of the Las Vegas Raiders
Josh McDaniels, the professional football coach of America, took on the managerial post of Las Vegas Raiders on January 31, 2022. However, the coach wasn’t able to stay in the club for at least a year. Under the guidance of a 47-year-old head coach, the Raiders showcased an awful performance.
Despite continuous poor performance in the NFL, franchise owner Mark Davis keeps supporting the head coach. When the coach was fired by the franchise on October 31, 2023, his record with the club was too bad. He finished his job with the Raiders on 9-16. Therefore, Raider’s terrible performance under McDaniels became the reason for losing his job within 1-year of appointment.
2. Frank Reich of the Carolina Panthers
Frank Reich managed the Carolina Panthers for just 11 months. Panthers appointed Reich on January 26, 2023. The franchise looks so unstable under the head coach. Out of 11 games, the Panthers won only one match with the club.
Despite consecutive losses, the team management kept on believing the 62-year-old coach. But finally, on November 27, the Panthers sacked their manager. His record with the club was 1-10, and the Panthers finished the season at the bottom of the NFC South with 2-15. Panthers never looked settled during Reich’s era.
3. Brandon Staley of the Los Angeles Chargers
One of the youngest coaches in the NFL took charge of the Los Angeles Chargers on January 17, 2021. He came as a successor of Anthony Lynn. Staley got his first victory against Washington commanders.
Staley finished his first season with the Chargers on 9-7, but the manager inspected for his two inaccurate decisions versus the Raiders on matchday 18 in 2021. The 2022 season was a memorable one for the 41-year-old coach. Staley guided his team to the Wild Card round, but in the end, despite taking a 27-0 lead over the Jaguars, they lost the match 3031.

The Jaguars made one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the playoffs. The new season could have been more convincing for Staley, and the franchise fired him on December 15, 2023. The 41-year-old finished his journey at the club with a 5-9 record. Since the shocking defeat to the Jaguars, Staley & Co. never seem back at their best.
4. Arthur Smith of the Atlanta Falcons
From the offensive coordinator of the Titans, Arthur Smith became the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons appointed Smith as the team’s head coach on January 15, 2021. The first game as manager for Smith was a nightmare. The Falcons lost to the Eagles with a 32-6 score line.
But Smith and the Falcons made a comeback and achieved a hard-fought victory over the Giants. The 41-year-old finished his first season with 7-10. Next season, they also, Falcons fail to qualify for the knockout stages and end their run with 7-10.

At the beginning of the 2023 season, fans and critics heavily criticized the coach for being unable to utilize the high-calibre players on his team. The Falcons failed to qualify for the next round for the third consecutive time and ended the season with the same result as the previous two. On January 8, 2024, the Falcons sacked the manager, and Smith’s first experience as the head coach could have been better.
5. Ron Rivera of the Washington Commanders
On the first day of 2020, Washington Commanders signed Ron Rivera as their head coach. Rivera’s first season with the Commanders was challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But luckily, he guides the Commanders to the NFC East title.
In the 2021 NFL season, Commanders finished the season with 7-10 in the 3rd spot. Later, in the 2022 season, he helped the Commanders finish at the bottom of the table with 8-8. Commanders began their 2023 season limply and again finished the group stage round at the bottom of the table.
Therefore, on January 8, 2024, they sacked their manager. Rivera signed some star players at Commanders but failed to meet the expectations.
6. Mike Vrabel of the Tennessee Titans
Mike Vrabel joined the Tennessee Titans as their manager on January 20, 2018. Vrabel spent five seasons with the franchise. He led the team to the AFC South title twice during his time with the club. Under Vrabel, the Titans reached the knockout stages considerably from 2019 to 2021.
I don’t know what the problem is in Tennessee but it wasn’t Mike Vrabel. We’d sure as hell take him in Chicago but our front office is even stupider. pic.twitter.com/ODkIOsOxIT

The 48-year-old coach’s stats with the Titans was fantastic. He won 54 games with them. When sacking the boss on January 9, 2024, the Titans finished the group as the last boy in the AFC South table with 6-11. After 2021, the Titans never reached the knockout stages and their terrible performance this season finally ended the coach’s five-year run with the club.
7. Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks
Pete Carroll is the most well-known and successful figure among the sacked managers of the league in the 2023-24 NFL season. Carroll has served as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks for 13 seasons. Throughout his time with the team, he led them to Super Bowl glory in 2014 for the first time in their history.
The 72-year-old manager left the club as the best coach in the club’s history. During 13 seasons, he led the Seahawks to the knockout stages nine times and made them champions once. On January 10, 2024, Carroll left the club as a legend.
In his final term, he could not guide the team to the next round of the competition and finished the NFC West group in 3rd spot with 9-8. The Seahawk’s firing of their coach became the most controversial topic in American football.
8. Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots
Another high-profile coach, Bill Belichick of the greatest club in the NFL, the New England Patriots, is sacked on January 11, 2024. Belichick has served as the head coach of the franchise for 23 years, since his appointment on January 27, 2000. The 71-year-old enjoyed some great time with the team and took them to new heights.
Bill Belichick fired: emotional.
Avoiding the cheese wheel: priceless.

He led the Patriots to 6 Super Bowl glory. But in the last two years, Belichick failed to get the team to knock out stages. This season they finished the league as the top boy in the AFC East table. In his final NFL season, the Patriots’ record was 4-13, which is really unexpected from the best side of the tournament.
The winning percentage of the franchise under Belichick is .235. Being a coach of the most successful club performance like this can not be tolerated, therefore the era of Belichick at the Patriots comes to an end.
