Alexander Zverev is probably at the top of his game. This year has proven to be a special year for the German player. Most recently, he was crowned the winner of the Nitto ATP Finals. He defeated Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals and then overpowered Daniil Medvedev to become the ultimate winner.
This was his 6th title of the season. With this, he became only the second player since 2003 to have won 6 or more titles in a year apart from the “Big 4″(Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray). Before him, David Ferrer reached this feat in the year 2012. The Spanish player won 7 titles in that particular year before David and Andy Roddick , in the year 2003.
The Big 4 have dominated the courts for more than 2 decades now. Be it Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray all have been in some top form over the years. The Swiss player came out on top among them when he won 12 titles in the year 2006.
Alexander Zverev titles in 2021
Alexander Zverev has had the best of the years. He started the year with 13 titles to his name. The German won the Mexican Open by defeating his arch-rival Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals. He then won the Madrid Open by defeating Matteo Berrettini in the finals. His season got better when he won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Olympic medal is also counted as a title, as cited by the ATP website.

He then performed exceptionally well and won the Cincinnati Open. The German increased his tally by winning the Vienna Open and then concluded by winning the ATP Finals in Turin. There’s still a long way to go for the German international and considering the form he is in, he can achieve greater heights in his career.
He has still not laid his hands on a grand slam. Zverev is the only player to have won 2 Masters titles but not won a single grand slam. Maybe he can break the curse next year at the Australian Open. Melbourne next year will provide him with a great opportunity to win the title.
