AEW Champion Slams Brock Lesnar For Insensitive Smackdown Segment

Thunder Rosa is on fire right now. La Mera Mera fulfilled her destiny last week when she finally defeated Dr. Britt Baker in a Steel Cage Match.

The new AEW Women's Champion is known for being outspoken; and extremely proud of her heritage.

Her entrance at St. Patrick's Day Slam included an all-women's mariachi band playing her to ring, in a powerful moment.

But the match itself and her entrance as well received a polarizing response from fans.

She responded to that in an interview with NBC Sports Boston's Ten Count; and brought up Brock Lesnar in the conversation.

On her match's brutal nature, Rosa said that criticism will always be there, but what matters is the performance.

She then addressed the criticism towards her entrance by pointing out how it has been mocked before and she restore pride to it. This is where Brock Lesnar comes in.

In 2004, Brock Lesnar was feuding with WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero in one of the best storylines in Sports Entertainment history.

In the build-up to the match at No Way Out, Brock Lesnar brought out a mariachi band on an episode of Smackdown in one his most-iconic moments.

But according to the AEW Women's Champion, it was disrespectful towards her culture.

"I read about me bringing the Mariachi and I remember Brock Lesnar making fun of Eddie Guerrero with that. And that hurts because they were making fun of my culture before", said Rosa.

She went on to add that it's the same with violence and women's wrestling, and stated the latter as being the reason for owning an all-women's wrestling promotion.

It will be interesting to see what Lesnar's response to this claim will be; granted if The Beast even makes one.
