SUMMARY
- Christian Horner get amicable advise to make a major decision.
- Rumors have hinted to what Horner is accused of.
Christian Horner has served as Red Bull’s team principal since 2005. During his term, the team has won 6 Constructors’ Championships and 7 Drivers’ Championships so far. There is no doubt that he is one of the most important people on the team.
However, all his accomplishments seem to be crumbling down with the latest reports. There are allegations against Horner for inappropriate behavior. This has prompted Red Bull to initiate an investigation that is being conducted by a 3rd party. Now there are reports that suggest that Horner could choose to resign sooner rather than later.
Christian Horner advised to resign from Red Bull
Given that the investigation was initiated by Red Bull and not Red Bull Racing, Horner will have no control over it. Judging by the rumors going around, there is something serious going on behind the closed doors of Milton Keynes.
If Christian Horner chooses to resign from the team, it could avoid public humiliation and could even put an end to the investigation. This could be the easiest way out of the situation if Horner is really in trouble.
Given the way things have been escalating with time, there is no doubt that these allegations are serious. Even Helmut Marko has denied to comment on the situation as of now. Although the exact allegations are not known yet, it has been rumored that Horner allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a Red Bull Racing employee. The said employee apparently has proof of these messages.

If this proves to be true, there is no doubt that Christian Horner’s future with the team will be at risk. If he is guilty of doing so, his best option would be to resign from his post to allow the team to carry on with the upcoming season. Although his career in F1 may be over, he could save what is left of his public image.
Horner is married to Geri Halliwell who was a member of the famous Pussycat Dolls. The couple have 2 children together. Geri has made an appearance in several episodes of Drive to Survive and has also been present during race weekends to show her support to the team.
Who will replace Christian Horner at Red Bull?
There are a few people who could replace Christian Horner as team principal for Red Bull. Over the years, there have been a few employees who have been with Red Bull for a long time.
Jonathan Wheatley has been the Sporting Director for the team since the 2006 season. He is one of the longest-serving employees on the team. There is no doubt that the team will be looking at Jonathan if Horner needs to be replaced. He is a senior member of the team and has been performing well for the last 18 years.

Red Bull’s other option would be to bring Laurent Mekies from Visa RB and appoint someone else to lead the Red Bull junior team. Given that Red Bull Racing will always be given more importance than RB, the team’s advisor, Helmut Marko will look at Laurent Mekies to see if he can step up to lead the reigning Champions to another season of victory.
Another candidate that could be looked at is Guenther Steiner. The former Haas team principal has worked with Red Bull Racing in the past. Before Newey came into the picture, Steiner served as the Technical Director for the team. Given that he has a lot of experience as a team principal, he could be asked to come in for an interview.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming hours.
